Drove my father-in-laws AWD GMC Acadia in the snow - my AWD C handles better

I'm not sure if I'm surprised or not, but I drove an AWD GMC Acadia in snow and I thought it handled like crap compared to my AWD C. Since I've owned my car it's laughed at any weather thrown at it. I was actually a bit tense driving the Acadia because it just didn't seem to grab the road that well (felt slipping, and I wasn't confident about it's ability to handle stopping etc in the snow). The Acadia (and its tires) only have a little over 10,000 miles on them so that isn't the issue - and the tread looks fine on them.

Does this surprise anybody?

ditto! I have an Olds Bravada, with the "smart trac" AWD, so the two front wheels only engage once slip is detected in the rear. It's pretty scarey! AWD LX handles 10x's better.

This should be under our AWD forum! ;)

I also think my AWD Charger does better in the snow than my Subaru Baja did! :thumbs_u:
