I'm curious how much pricing out the parts would cost. I'd also get the 6.1 covers from the SRTs if you were going to do that. They're a bit nicer looking than those. And since I've seen an engine on eBay (6.1) that had one original cover and one of those, I assume the SRT's would fit just the same.
Oh, I've seen just the covers online for $50-60, so are eight coils and the rest of the hardware going to cost over $400?
Look, before you leap and you could do it cheaper with better looking covers.
Looking online and not including the bolts/washers/nuts here's what I see.
Oh by the way, the service manual says the gaskets are reusable as long as they're not damaged. So if you really wanted to be a cheap SOB... You could skip on those too. However there is a ground mounting point on the 5.7 if I recall, so that would have to be accomodated somehow. Might have been needed due to the wires dancing from side to side. The 6.1 doesn't have it.
