I just would like to know if anyone has brembos that are a diffrent color than the normal. Ill post pics tommorow cause its dark, but i have a midnight blue magnum with red brembos and the clear is peeling so I want to have them redone but was wondering if I should do them the same color as the car or another color that you guys may recommend. If you have pics show them, if u could photoshop it that would be cool too. Thanks everyone.

The Brembo's on mine are silver, I wouldn't reccomend that though because you really cant see them lol I think that was the point, was for them to not be obvious. And with your color wheels, I would just stick with red, or maybe the Mopar Orange that the challengers are. I think that would look cool with the color of your car.

did you have to take the caliper and rotors off your self before your paint shop would paint them? I cant find a shop to do all that for me and paint them... :banghead:

Freebird, how does the yellow in the slots on the rotors hold up? How often do you drive your car?

I do not drive the Bee very often, mostly on weekends.

The powder in the slots holds up ok, if you take a q-tip to them each time you drive the car. After time I don't clean the slots anymore. No biggie though, as I knew I would not keep up with the cleaning of them and my powder coater did not charge me extra to do the slots.

Mine is peeling and chipping off also... my guess is someone prior to me owning it used some wheel cleaner or degreaser that started eating the coating off...

Ill probably be doing mine as well as some other suspension parts in Hemi orange, or the vette ZO6 orange... the red and inferno is just TOO close in color...

they sell rebuild kits and seals so you can tear them apart and do it right if you want...

yea, the clear is coming off mines too! I hate it they almost look pink now.. :(

I know a guy who had factory gold brembos on a blue subaru STI it looks alright...for an import

it may be cheaper because they want me to leave the brakes on the car as opposed to removing and bringing them in seperately. i thought powdercoat has a baking process? doesnt quite make sense to me
It is. Maybe they're going to take them off for you?
Huuuum...... Lets see.....

Take them off......disassemble.....drain fluid.....remove seals and block off seal area,

along with bleed fittings, powdercoat ...re assemble....fill and bleed system......

$150 for all 4.......

WOW thats a deal.....
that does not sound right. i think you better ask some questions.

he said they have done many brake calipers and they prefer to leave them on the car as the ABS system and bleeding brakes can be a pain (this is verbatim from the shop owner) i said i thought it would be easier if i remove from the rotor and bring all 4 to you. how can he do the baking process for the powdercoat when they are physically still on the car? put my whole car in the oven? LOL

They sell propane/natural gas heat lights for powdercoat finishing. They can aim them where needed to bake the powder that has been applied on assembled components. I would guess this is what they have planned.
