I have an 07 Charger SRT8 and when you put the display on the digital speedo & press the reset stalk on the fuel gauge to scroll through the trip mileage you come to a top speed display.

sorry for the late reply. 05172122AF updates to 05172122AG

Thanks for the details on the EVIC diagnostic codes. I have ordered a 09 Challenger R/T with the electronics convenience group. Can you tell me if my electronic display will show me my 1/4 mile time, G-Forces etc. like the SRT-8? My dealer can not tell me for sure. Thanks for any help you can give. Once my order goes into production, no more changes...
sorry, i have no idea. free bump.

by dmag : "Observation of the MinL/MinR values shows that:
1) they will reset to 181 after filling up
2) the values will stay at 181 until about 50 pints, then will slowly increase to a max of somewhere around 199 (the highest number reported thus far). Even with very little fuel in the right tank (i.e., hovering around 0, but occasionally fluctuating between 0 to 5 pints), the MinR value will be around 195 to 196.
3) this corresponds with the service manual statement that resistance increases as fuel level falls."

my gauge have this read a full tanks

avg is max 150 but my gauge if full. ?

Software version is 3.61

is normal?

tanks

free bump. don't really know. don't have an EVIC to play with. :(

Can I keep the EVIC in diagnostic mode continueslu? or just for brief times. I like being able ti see the digital soeedo and the temp and rpms in one place.

yes, you can leave it that way as long as you like. you'll probably have to exit this mode to access other features though.

btw, welcome to LXforums. :)

So can someone explain the TC function? The Thld is the head light on sensitivity adjustment that is changed by pressing the > on the steering wheel. But the TC changes by pressing the note key on the steering wheel but I have no clue to what it affects. The HBduty: is still a question also, but as far as I know it is not adjustable.

Thanks
Steve

EVIC MPG including instant MPG with numbers

From a 2007 model year Dodge Charger SRT8 with CCN Software Info 6/28/06 v 5.34 pn 048446887AE

Inside the super secret EVIC mode, after you hold down the music note and North arrow, you can get the instant MPG with the left to right progress bar.

Useful info, but there is no scale on the bar. How bad is it all the way to the left? What number is in the middle?

Image

But in previous years' Chrysler products, especially those with the EVIC in the overhead console, you could see the instant MPG. Great for gliding downhill to see how high the MPG could get in the minivan :)

Today, I found out if you touch the right arrow button while on the MPG graph screen, it changes and shows two numbers under the bar.

The left hand number is the average MPG, the same one displayed in regular EVIC mode.

The right hand number is the elusive instant MPG. So you know how much dinosaur juice you are going through at WOT or saving by feathering the accelerator.

Image

I was only driving around town, but my personal best is 40 mpg.

The highest reading the instantaneous mpg goes to is 44.9mpg. The bar graph mid point is approx 20mpg all the way left is that always present 0 mpg's. Now that you have gotten into instantaneous mpg mode when you depress the > (rt arrow) button your A, B or total mileage will display, then when depressed again back to inst mpg.

Weak! Mine shows the version before yours, and I don't get those numbers after hitting the right arrow! arrgh! Any way to to date that?

The HBduty is the highbeam duty. It is used to show how much the highbeams are illuminated when the "Smart Beam" auto high beams are used.

The CCN controls the evic display. (Cabin Control Node)

The digital speedo and oil can are only visible in diagnostic mode even in the latest software version.

Good luck on getting the dealer to flash the module. unless you have a specific tsb or problem most won't even touch it.
I have a 2007 SRT8 Charger and while everywhere I read how the 2007+ SRTs have a 1/4 timer and several things along that line in a performance menu I don't have that on mine. In fact the program version that shows on mine is dated IIRC 6/30/06 (06 model software?) and the version number (ends in AE - I can go get the exact number if needed) is the exact same number as what is on a friends 2007 Daytona which is NOT obviously an SRT8. I believe since I bought an SRT8 and paid SRT8 price and not RT price I should get features and flashes that go with an SRT8 and not an RT or a Daytona... Would that qualify as a problem that would justify the dealer flashing my car to get it on the 2007 SRT8 version of EVIC?

ETA: I have 04844687AE dated 06/28/06 v. 5.34 What would I need to say to get that updated to have the performance menu that other 2007 SRT's have?
TIA

04844687AE supercedes to 05172660AA.
not sure if this will enable the items you wish.
IIRC, there may be hardware differences.

05172660AA is described as "2007 LX CCN POLICE".
Thanks for the info. So what/how would I be able to justify the dealer needing to update to that new number you listed that supercedes mine?
Any ideas or suggestions at all?

TIA

unless there is a verifiable issue that is addressed by a TSB, they may not want to flash it as a warrantable repair.
if all else fails, offer cash. money talks...

We here in SoCal have a member with this issue... I can't find anything about it

my cel came on about an hour ago while going to wings n things. so i tried the trouble code display trick (on,acc,on,acc,on) and nada. so i went into the extended evic menu and i got ---29, then it said DONE29, then VMM 29. i took pics: can anyone help? i appreciate your assistance in advance.

Woops this was a double post and needs to be deleted, but I don't know how.

Sorry

This is what I found out and posted in a different thread about EVIC a few months back. This was the thread EVIC question for someone in the know????

Well I went snoopin around on other sites and I finally found my answers. So here to put to rest the last unanswered questions about Screen 6/one shown below. It all makes sense to me now.

Screen 6

AutoHLSens - Number
Current value of the light sensor for the automatic headlight system (instantaneous).

Higher Number = Darker
TC - 2 Numbers
First number is a dampening (averaging) value, the higher the number, the more dampening occurs.

i.e. Higher the dampening value, the longer it will take for the lights to come on when it gets dark and longer it will take for the lights to go off when it gets bright. So if you go through a lot of short tunnels and don't want the lights to keep going on and off, increase this value.

Second number is the damped sensor value.
Thld - A number and up to 2 alphabets
Current threshold value. If damped sensor value exceeds this value, lights will come on. If damped sensor value goes below this value, lights will go off.

A = Automatic Headlights On
H = SmartBeam Automatic High Beam System On
HBduty - Numerical Percentage
Shows the current intensity level of the SmartBeam system, 0% = off, 100% = full high beams.
Available Actions:
♪ Increases dampening value (max out then loop back to lowest value)
> Increases threshold value (max out then loop back to lowest value)

Hope this helps
Steve

Try saying that the temperature display is slow to update and up to 10* off, and that a friend of yours had this problem and had a flash done and it was fixed after. TSB 08-026-04 deals with this. As long as you don't have software version 3.61 or better you may be fine. THERE IS NO GUARANTEE YOU WILL GET THE EXTRA DIAGNOSTIC READOUTS. Another thing you can claim, which is funny but actually part of the same TSB, that the French language translations are indeciferable. Say that your wife is learning French and is trying to read the EVIC displays in French.
i went to the dealer to have a check up the transmission because my car was running strange and i was told that every thing was o.k.My car is still under warranty. The stealer told me that I had 2 choice.
Pay for the check up(135$ for not even 10 min) or pay for the upgrade of my software(I have now the 3.61 version)Does it mean that I had a real problem?

Btw...no french possible...
