So...I get to the wash today and several guys are giving me compliments on the car. One of the guys that works there says hey you should see this other older Monte Carlo SS that's there. So he points me in the direction of the dude that owns it and I get to chatting with him a little...

Me-"that's a nice Monte Carlo you have there...what cam is in it?"

Doosh-"specs are 52/54...it's a big block cam and it has over 800hp and 750tq"

Me-"so does it have a high stall converter?"

Doosh-"yea same one I had in my trans am...it's a 600"

Doosh again-"you mean what's my idle?"

Me-"no I'm talking about a high stall converter like 3k"

Doosh-"Oh I don't know I've had it a long time"

At that point I just walked away. He asked what my car had and I said it was stock. I'm guessing the car probably had 300whp at most. I laughed inside...Made me think of the Mustang GT-R video!!:blam:

I wish I took a pic of this doosh so you guys could see. It's about what you can picture him to look like. Probably was on his way home to bang his sister.:blam:

Yea I know there are good/bad in every crowd. He was just a perfect image of what I'd picture the typical "chevy guy" to look like. I personally like several GM vehicles myself...If I had the dough there are a few Corvettes and older Chevy's I would own.

You might not believe this but there are douches out there with Mopars and Fords spitting out the same BS as the one Chevy guy you found. Please grow-up and don't be one of the douches.

Perhaps he is an engineer of some sort? "specs are 52/54" That is a spec for a camshaft, it refers to the Rockwell hardness after it has been through hardened. If it was nitrided it will have a Rockwell hardness of 70 about .025" thick and then a layer under that that is about Rockwell C 52-54. That is of course if it is manufactured from 4140 steel.:stir:
