I'm from Monroe, La and my parents live there still but I go to college in Alabama. Anyway, I heard from a friend that NOS is completely illegal in Ouachita Parish which is where Monroe is located. I'm planning on getting the ZEX kit for my R/T either way but I was wondering if anyone knew a website where I could search for laws and regulations? I looked all around the internet but I keep coming up empty handed.

I thought a bottle was illegal PERIOD on the road? At the same time, your tints illegal....just run the with the bottle. More then a few F-bodys around here do with no problems.

I heard that in most states it's legal to have the bottle, just not opened.

Keep it in your car with the bottle off, then disconnect the line. SO IF you do get pulled over you can show the police that it isn't connected and the bottle is off!

I imagine it would be same or similar in most states.
You have to have the bottle off and hoses disconnected.

In New Jersey you must have a license to carry and handle nitrous.

yea just carry it and disconnect it. I got pulled over a while back because i had the bottle open and connected, but the cop didnt check that if i had it 'connected under the hood :) :) '

I went to court and said that the cop didnt check under the hood where i had disconnected it (even though that was a lie), and I got off the ticket. You should be fine

Thanks for info y'all... I've already called Eddie at Southern Hotrod and he's gonna order and install everything.

I'll run with the everything disconnected most of the time but even if I get pulled over the cop will have no reason to search my car.

I saw someone before a guy cut a dufflebag open and put it on top of the bottle in the trunk. just by looking in there it conseals your nos tank. maybe a nice bowling bag or brown grocery bag would be funny..

Something like this? RDunn had this N2O mod on his car covering his bottle. " What bottle officer?"

lol A grocery bag would be pretty funny.

It's illegal here as well, but I've never heard of anyone getting in trouble for it, aside from if they were caught USING it. One of my friends has it hooked up in his Trans Am, and in the two times I've been in the car when he was stopped, they didn't say anything about it. And I know they saw it. But yeah, I'd keep it disconnected.

Really how is a co pgoing to know you have N20 and what is the reason he is stopping to check it?
MOst states it needs to be disconnected, it isn't illegal to have a N20 kit installed on your car.

Thanks for those pics, I've got a bag that will be perfect. The cops in Monroe some how know my car and everything in it, how I have no idea, but I'll be getting this installed down in New Orleans and there ain't no way in hell the cops are gonna find out about the bottle. Plus, I'm going to college out of state and I'm rarely in La.
