I finally did the wiper delete and I'm glad it's gone so what do you think.
i figured this was the nicest look I could find out of all of the threads I have read. The tape should keep the water out

Hehe actually I'm waiting for my Chrysler SRT 8 spoiler to be delivered to finish it off
what I did to waterproof was epoxy a 1/2 piece of plexiglass on the inside this way nothing rusts.

I heard the tape will give me an extra 5 hp and 4 mpg.

Didn't even think about that. I should if used Frog tape. Damn me! I wasn't thinking

Agreed... If Duct Tape was good enough for the Space Shuttle upon reentry, then thats surely the most effective way to protect things Dammit! Just make sure its not the Inferiorly Chinese made Fuct(Fake Duct) Tape, cause your car will go up like a Roman Candle with that stuff on it... 8-p

That is correct I cut down an srt8 badge. Friend of mine totaled his car so I took the badges and his interior

Well spoiler was delivered and I must say WOW! What I nice piece not made like a piece of crap. Looks to be pretty durable as it is not fiberglass. The paint is perfect. Due to inclement weather here I can not install yet but I did a test fit and fitment is perfect. It is the exact contour of the hatch.

I find the rear wiper more usable than the delete. I prefer visibility to good looks on a sunny day

Installation complete. I love it so much more than the wiper.

I put one of these wings a couple of years ago. Go's on with 3M tape. The wing does stick out over the hatch about an 1/8 inch on each side. You could attach it with bolts as there are female fastners in the wing, but that would require you to drill you hatch. I love mine, but I would much rather have a non painted one and sand down the wing on the edges so it fit better then get it painted.

It's okay. I'm at like 40% liking it, 60% not liking it. I'd imagine wiper delete would mean welding and painting, so this takes care of that. If you like it, that's all the matters. It doesn't look bad. You want bad? I saw a 300 the other day with a rear spoiler that sat 3" above the trunk, kinda like a Honda would have.

Hey it's your opinion and like the title says what do you think. Everyone has there own taste. There is something about it that I like. I like this option better than any of the others out there aside from a weld and repaint but too expensive right now and I don't want to mess with the factory paint as it is in great shape.

The typical 3M tape supplied with stuff like this tends to be one of their VHB ("very high bond") products and believe me, it's not coming off without some serious effort. That's the same tape used to hold side moldings onto most cars. It's a monster. Proper surface prep is key of course; can't have any wax, grease, dirt, etc. Nice clean surface and it will stick like mad.
