hey gang I am wondering if i can run a pair of 295/30/22's in the back with no issues. was a bit concerned that the tire may be too wide for the rim. a buddy of mine has some nitto 420s (?) and I need new tires asap.

will eventually get some 22x10 viper reps if a good deal comes by but need to know asap.

anybody else running 295/30/22 on a 9.5 inch rim?

thanks for chiming in..

I think the issue is the height of the tire. I run 295-40-20 on SRT wheels that are 9".

295-30-22 isnt going to have much sidewall for it to flex on a 9.5

Im guessing u might be safe. It should work since some guys are doing it on 22x10's.

thanks for chiming in guys..
I agree with inferno 6.1 as far as the rubber difference. I am digging the wide look out back anyways and the 265's are looking a little small.

Im lowered on KW's and from what I hear the 30 series are the way to go if you are lowered.

I've always low-key envied your ride, even when you had the Asanti's (?) if Im not mistaken.

I went to 20's for weight savings because I like to race at the strip...and more/cheaper tire options.

You should be okay, i have 265/35/22 - 22x9 going on front's and 295/30/22 - 22x10 going on the rear's tomorrow. I have seen 22x10's all day look sick, so 22x9.5 should look just as bad a$$!!!! I will post some pics for you tomorrow after work.

So i just got around to trying to mount my 295's on a 9.5 inch rim but have some major inner well rubbing issues. looks like i need about 1 to 1 1/2 " to keep it from clearing. the tires guys mentioned something about the offset of the rim and it not being wide enough is keeping it from clearing.

any suggestions.. this is starting to bug me now. argh..

Did they put the car on the ground? A lot of times, with wider tires, they will rub while the car is in the air. But after you put it back on the ground, it clears fine.

If that's not the case, it sounds like your offset is too high. The offset is usually stamped on the inside of the wheel. With a 9.5" rim, you need about a +25mm offset. Anything higher will move the wheel to the inside of the car, toward you inner fender liner. You would be looking at spacers to make it work.

wow that is extremely helpful info. Do you know what size or a good place to get spacers? this is all new to me. is there a huge difference btwn spacers and hub adapters?

Aren't these rims on your car already or did you just get them? Going by your picture. Did you ever put the car on the ground to see if there were rubbing issues?

Yes, I had the same problem when I had my Magnum. It was against the inner fender well plastic, but when they put the car on the ground, everything was normal, no rubbing. But this was with 20x10 20mm offset 295/40/20 Pirelli Pzero's. Install the rims/tire, put it on the ground and inspect it to see, but believe you will be fine.

Fellas, thanks for your help on this... You guys were right about putting the car on the ground HOWEVER, I have another dilemnna ...

While there is NO rubbing on the inside now (probably because of the spacers that were installed), I am having some tire splicing issues that just occured while my son is in the back seat. :-(. I assume i will have to roll my fenders no? Does anyone know if the SPACERS are necessarily required off hand?

redundant questions I know, but this install is getting a bit tedius. thanks lxers!!
