I am new I joined mainly to help yall out. 2006 srt8 magnum stalled a little then got very frequent. I forget the forms I found it on but a master Chrysler mechanic chimed in and said it's a classic Mopar issue with many of them stalling........:banghead: it's you clock spring in the steering wheel!!!!!!!!!!!! It sends a short through the 5v trigger system in the whole car. He said to unplug horn relay if equipped and see if problem goes away if so then it's the clock spring. After many trips to local mechanics and dealers with just a uhhhhhhhhh maybe even it is this and maybe that. I said what the hell so I pulled the fuses to the horn and stering column and wammmmmmmmmmm. NOO MORE STALL!!!! Thank you who ever you are that posted that and we're I don't know because have been searching the net for a year for a solution. Got my srt8 fixed finally thanks yall hope it helps you this has been really aggravating trying to fix.

Just a warning when you try this diagnosis. Run the car but you will have no wipers, horn,or turn signals!!!! So be carefull when testing.. replaced fuses and stalled almost instantly. Replaced clock spring and she is good as new. Sorry for long post.

You either have an issue with the Transmission Control Module Wiring Harness(a Short in the Wiring due to water/dirt/corrosion. Ie broken pins,a fray in the wiring), or there is an issue with the PCM/ the PCM's wiring that allows it to communicate with the TCM in car... Check the wiring to both units, and if they are fine, then you may need to have the PCM inspected/Replaced...

Update!!!! The dealership looked at the car and ran the scanner. It is definitely the PCM. They stated it might be something else after the new PCM is installed but I definitely need a new PCM. At first, they said I couldn't use the refurbished one I bought and it was going to cost $1,000 total for new one plus flash/labor. However, they called back and said they are willing to try the refurbished PCM because it has the same serial number. The cost would only be $200 then. I pray that the refurbished one works!!!! I'll definitely keep you guys updated. Thank you for all the comments/help!!!!

Good luck! On both that it's only the PCM and the refurbished one is good.

It sucks when you don't know what's wrong.

Good luck with the refurb PCM. Every Chrysler Dodge dealer or mechanic I have spoken to about this strongly recommends not to use the refurbished units. The random infrequent stall does not show up on bench testing so whatever issue is in the PCM never gets corrected. As I stated in my previous post I pulled and replaced a Mopar Factory refurbished PCM. It was installed by the dealer to cure the stalling problem but it didn't so everyone assumed that the problem was something else. Turns out it wasn't and large amounts were spent to no avail. If it continues to stall please get a good known used unit and try it BEFORE you spend more money.

The car is fixed!!! It was definitely the PCM. They used the refurbished one I bought and it works like a charm. They also changed the spark plugs and did a complete transmission cleaning. I'm so thrilled it's finally fixed!!!!
i am going to just put this here. My car, with a rebuilt PCM ran fine with no stalling for a short period of time so when it started doing the stalling again everybody discounted the PCM because it was " new ". If yours starts stalling again, please do not discount your PCM do a test with a new used unit. I swapped PCMs with a know good used unit and it has never run better. I bought my car with this problem because the previous owner had spent upwards of 10K trying to get the car fixed.
