I used a PAC line level converter that used the speaker signal to create one.

So I decided to swap out my Beats Audio subwoofer after all. The Beats Audio setup is not bad but considering we all paid about a $1000 it should be better.

Key points:

The 3 band equalizer is a joke and the fact that certain Audio signals are sent to certain speakers makes it even worse. Example, High and Mod signals are sent to the 3 speakers on top of the dash and to speakers sitting in the rear deck. Lows are sent to the door speakers and the subwoofer. There is no way to change this. I don't know how low the signal sent to the sub is but I would image it's somewhere are 30-40Hz.

So how does the aftermarket subwoofer sound? Leaps and bounds better than the Beats Audio subwoofer. Below are pics of the install:

1. I spiced the speaker wire connected to the subwoofer and added my own.

2. I ran said speaker wire to an LOC.

3. I ran a remote-turn on wire to the fuse box in the trunk.

4. I connected 8 gauge wire to the fuse and battery.

5. Made all of the connections to the subwoofer and amp.

6. I fired it up and was instantly surprised at the change.

Here's the back story. I'll be upgrading my subwoofer in my Durango & Charger @ the end of the summer. I don't want to cut the harness in any way. I contacted Metra looking for an adaptor to plug into where the factory Beats Sub is & they said that they have no plans to make them. The hunt was on. I sourced the connectors & terminals & built some. I left about 8in of wire for connections, you can add wire & hook it to a line level converter or straight to another sub.

I have confirmed they work on my 14 Charger R/T with the Beats, 15 Durango R/T with Beats, & 11-14 Durango with Alpine.

I have already sold a few to some fellow Durango owners & have 6 left.
Price $23 shipped USPS to the lower 48. Sorry, but the last time I tried Canadian shipping it was a nightmare.

The 1st 2 pics are my Charger test fit, the rest are the Durango test fit.

Got a few left. I did one in my 14 Charger & have sold several to Charger & Durango owners.
