WTF, where did my SC 91 octane tune go after update?

So I updated my SC Flashpaq to 1.18 and when I went out to the car and started to reprogram it and under the power levels I only have a choice of 87 tune and mileage XS or whatever they call it.

Is that new thing mileage XS supposed to replace the 91 tune? I sure hope not unless it doesn't cut any power but I don't see how it couldn't.

Did I just screw myself with this latest update?

I see what you're saying. If I new that by downloading Mileage XS that it would replace the 91 tune I wouldn't have done it. It didn't mention anything about losing the 91 tune if you choose to load it.

I could have swore that some people loaded the XS tune and still had the 91 tune. I don't see any way to reverse what I did though. I'm either going to call Superchips today or maybe tomorrow since I have tomorrow off and it might be easier to deal with their tech support while I have the unit at home connected to the update.

Can you not go back and download the Performance Tune with Advanced Datalogging which should replace the Mileage XS files on your unit? I also downloaded the mileage XS update to mine but after reading some things about it I have not hooked the unit to my car at all. Still have the 91 tune on the car. Was hoping to simply take advantage of the Fan Control ... I also don't see anywhere that says what grade of gas you are supposed to use with the Mileage XS tune ... does anyone know? Please post what you find out from their Support people.

When i hear about a 1.18 update or anything i always just put all four things from the site on the SC even if I have it before. I have every option...I'll take a pic of each of the screens if I get a sec.

hey guys,i just talked to rich at superchips.. he indicated that the 1.18 version did not delete the 91 tune.. he suggested goin back on line and reupdating your unit.. i have an sc but have not updated from 1.17.. will try tonight and see if the same problem happens..

The problem is I can't update it over again. Once I plug in the Superchips programmer into my computer it reads it and says it has already been updated. I don't have an option of updating it over again.

The only options I had was to add the data logging and XS tune. I didn't see anything about picking what I wanted to update, it just read my programmer and updated it without giving me a choice of what I wanted other than the data logging and XS tune.

You may need to update the program on your PC first before you download the updates. I opened my Superchips Update link and the first thing it told me was my Updater was old and needed to be updated (I was on v 1.11 at the time)... I did that first and restarted the app, then when I went to Find Updates it took me to the download site and offered 3 choices, 1.18 with Datalogger, 1.18 with Advanced Datalogger and 1.18 with Mileage XS ... is this what you saw?

I don't know if I can help, but I use the Diablo, and when I tried to upgrade the shift firmness, the shift changed differently, so I realised maybe I was compounding the changes, so go back to oem settings, then try again, Mag05

I downloaded the updater since I think I deleted the old one quite a while back, so the updater was current. Yes, I saw those three options. I figured they were three options and all three could be loaded while retaining whatever I already had from 1.11 (but updated if changes were made to any of it like the 91 tune) so I did all three. After I did that I took the programmer out to the car to check out the new stuff and 91 octane tune was no longer on the programmer, but it was loaded in my car from 1.11.

I thought maybe I should reload the stock tune on the car then start all over agin so I did that. Well I still didn't have the 91 tune so I took it back in the house and tried to update the programmer again, but the updater said it was already updated and wouldn't do anything to it. I took it back outside and plugged it into the car and still had no 91 tune listed in the programmer. At this point it really sucked because now I had the stock tune loaded in the car and only choices of 87 tune and Mileage XS on the programmer. I loaded the mileage XS because I didn't want the stock tune of the 87 tune. I doesn't seem to bad of a tune, but I don't think it quite has the balls of the 91 tune.

See what's weird is none of those three listed options seem to suggest anything about a performance tune so I can't figure out how to get it back. Since I loaded all three options there isn't anything else I can load. It seems my programmer is updated as I have the new options and will not update any further, but the 91 tune has dissapeared into thin air.

If Scott at Superchips did not help, sounds like the programmer has a software glitch or programmer problem

I tried loading my programer after updating to 1.18, could not find where to disable MDS. My programer shows I still have 91 tuning ability, as well as adjusting fan settings. It also shows an option of the XS tune. I have not used that tune as I want to keep the 91 performance tune. Can anyone tell me where the MDS adjustment is on the tunner? I downloaded the program twice from SC and still can not find the MDS.

In the list of options is where the MDS is located. I think it's either right above or below the fan settings in the programmer.

You should always get the 91 files no matter which download you select.

Mileage XS will not replace a 91 octane file, it will just becoma another option to choose from.

There may have been an issue with the dB that was downloaded so customer service is going tocheck his tuner out to make sure.

Yeah that's what I thought, I'd have new options along with the 91 tune.

I'm going to call Superchips customer service tomorrow so that I can talk to them while I have the tuner connected to my home computer. I couldn't do it today since I'm at work.

I was going to get the 1.18 tune also, just to have the fan control, but I think I'll wait now to see if this is resolved.

Sure wish Scott would let the rest of us know what is going on. I have been on the fence about this update, and I'm still on the fence!
