Great product pic on the web site! You're not just about to run over a baby... you're going to cream a screaming little girl all done up in pigtails and wearing her cute Sunday dress.

Guess they got *that* point across :)

Seriously, you'll love it. My camera just died for some reason... I probably pulled a wire when I was messing around down there last week. Dammit.

Cool. I've always wanted to do a license plate cam, but was afraid it'd get stolen. Looks like those screws are the type that are difficult to unscrew! Cool!

awsome cant wait to see where you put the screen
Where was the question that killed me for this model. I had considered this one (or one like it from Pep Boys, I don't remember).

Initially I wanted to place it in the sunglasses holder but found that it blocked some of the rearview mirror perspective and blocked the HomeLink buttons.

I also looked for some good place on the dash for it but couldn't find one that integrated nicely.

Another thing to consider is that one naturally looks at the rearview mirror when backing up. So to look elsewhere (dash, console...wherever) would be unnatural. Worse it would involve retraining my wife which has a certain degree of difficulty :deadhors: .

My choice is described in this KB for those who need it: http://www.lxforums.com/board/showthread.php?t=36455

Enjoy your new backup view, the camera has really helped us!

Yea if you have video already upfront, a regular camera will work out much better.

the bad part about those clamp-on mirrors is the ball socket that holds the current mirror is meant to hold the weight of the mirror. Not the mirror plus a big one with speakers in it and stuff. Hit a bump, even a small one, and you have to refocus the mirror cuz it shifted down.

Been there and done that. It sucked.

Never thought of that, thanks.
