As most of you know I have been around awhile.I have also become friends with alot of you through out the years. Some personally and other friends via phone conversations and emails. What I have noticed latley is the stone throwing going on the minute someone does not agree with ones opinion. Is it the economy that is making everyone so grumpy?I know personally that life is stressful for alot of us right now,but damn this should be the place to relax talk a little smack, kick back and talk about what we all love.Cars people.Cars are one of the things that made this country great.Cars are what has brought alot of us together.

It would be nice to see just one thread discussed without a piss'n match starting. One more thing,I love this place and respect lots of you fellow LX'ers out there.I have learned way more here then any technical school or dealership could ever tell me about my sled.Lets keep this place the great place it is for many years to come.I hope the newbies come and learn to love this place as I have.Rant over..And thanks for taking the time to read this..:)

You noticed too, huh? I dunno. The criticism is becoming insult, and even the stuff that's still friendly is being taken as insult. *shrug* growing pains i guess.

Eh, people want whats best for each other. If that includes throwing stones at someone potentially hurting another member (or their car) then I think its justified. The bandwagoning is the problem... or is it just people coming out who tried to keep silent before?

I blame winter. Down with winter! Doing my part to contribute to global warming by driving an American V8, all the while grinning like a madman. :racing:

I see more newer members logging on so growing pains maybe. But this forum has been around for some time now, the same trouble keeps popping up and the admins seem to do their best to shut it down as soon as they can, but I see that people disagree with the punishment and start a revolt.

Thanks for posting that observation. I think some of us newer people see the long-timers talking smak and mocking each other and forget they have personal relationships already built. You can't just jump someone without knowing them and how they'll take it.
Then again, some of us are just logged on more because there's no work.

It's got to do a lot with stress, I know I for one I have not be so myself with people lately. I did snap at a member a few weeks back over something stupid. But stress can get to someone. All of us here have bills that need to be paid at the end of the day, and we try and visit this site to step away from the everyday, and seeing most of us are friends in one way or another, we feel we can express our self, good or bad and hope that everyone excepts that for what it is. When one of our "friends" doesn't agree, it's like a personal attack.

But we are family, and real families always work it out.

Stress or no stress, theres no arguing that this forum has turned into that one high school clique. If youre not in that clique, watch out because youve got it coming to you. It used to be a fun place to come after a job/college/etc to see how peoples' builds are progressing, whats new in the Hemi world, etc, and now its about whos going to get bashed next for doing something out of the norm or supporting something the clique doesnt.

Heck, if I was a newb I would be terrified to start a thread about a question I had for the sake of being attacked and told its the wrong way or wrong company to go with. Thats not how it should be here. Wheres the constructive criticism anymore? We've lost something within the past year...

I think you are over blowing it a lil bit there but while I agree some things are stepped on a bit faster then need be at times it is not an all out witch hunt that a few are trying to make it look like..

By far this is still the friendliest of all car forums I've been on to date..

ya, it's definitely gotten a little ugly around here lately ... kudos for starting the thread OP, I know I'm not myself ...

But I know LXforums is one of the places I go to see the new stuff coming down the pipe for these rides and it keeps my mind going ... just like a few weeks ago there was a good thread in the power adder area about the limitations/capabilities of the PCM and how it handled open and closed loop fueling ... that discussion cleared up so many questions for me ... now I understand how the computer thinks ... I definitely don't want to loose what this site has ...

keep it classy LX ...

WHAT THE H3LL DO YOU MEAN BY THAT!!! LOL just kidding Scott and very well said. Everyone deals with there own life stress everyday in there own way. These are very stressfull times for many people and some do have difficulties relaying there opinion without coming accross harsh. I am sure we are all gulity of this at one time or another. I enjoy this site and am thankful for the friends I have made here. I find no matter how stressful things are, the family we have here on this forum will usually be very helpful at eliminating some of that stress and many times solve some problems completly.

As a vendor on a number of other sites, it's our view that the tension in the air here is really affecting the membership base and overall contribution by members and vendors.
Sadly once the damage is done changing the direction of the boat is a much harder task.

Ultimately these sites are in effect small towns that need some form of governance, without a clear mandate and the cops on the beat to keep the peace the thugs will continue there rein of harassment.

After all humility is something you learn after the fact and by then it's too late.
