Replaced fan assembly. Stock one lost a blade and took out the radiator in 2014.
Now 8 years later the replacement one VDO FA70272 died - fan #1 had bearing noise and fan#2 was completely dead.
Good news: O’Reilly Auto Parts covered under warranty and gave me $38 because the price had gone down (glad the price of something has gone down!).
Bad news: went for a short drive to get temps up got a vibration once the fans came on….
I have a lot of other more fun things to be doing to this car - don’t want to do this job over!

After 223K miles, my roof molding came off. Blew off on the freeway at 80mph. Already ordered a new one. Was going to replace both, but the left side is currently on backorder.

Dealer still have these or aftermarket source?

I bought that rubber roof molding a few months ago. One of mine was loose and came off in a car wash.

Pulled my fan assembly out again.
Original exploded in 2014 and took radiator with it. Replaced it with Murray-branded VDO at that time. It lasted 110k and died a couple weeks ago. OReillys warrantied it and gave me $38 because price has gone down. Put in the new one and it vibrates like crazy when it comes on. Pulled it and spun the fans by hand and the bearings are pretty rough for a brand new unit. Went to exchange it but the one they had in stock also felt pretty rough - both Continental-branded “made in China”…
Had them order a Dorman - yes Dorman can be hit or miss. This was twice the money so expecting a European or USA product )I think my old one was from Europe somewhere.

So Dorman 620-039XD is the heavy-duty police and fleet fan assembly so they say, and is more than twice the price of their standard one. This one still said made in China, but looks like much better quality than the Murray-branded Continental I tried. Bearings spin smooth and the fan blades appear to have been balanced (little metal clips on some blades) so on it went. Works great, runs quiet and smooth - hope it lasts a long time! Glad to have my car back! The previous unit had no wiring harness so had to switch the one from my old one.
This XD unit had a wiring harness on it that actually plugged into my original harness. Kinda weird, but a few zip ties kept it tidy.

Replaced my HVAC controller today.
Lights had gone out and A/C quit all at the same time. Working great now. Really easy to swap.

Dropped off drivers seat at upholstery shop . The SRT seats I bought some months ago (and have not installed yet) we’re in great shape but drivers side outer bolster was beat up and had a funky patch on it. Getting a few panels replaced so they will be looking good when I put them in.

Got my SRT8 seats 75% installed. The SRT8 passenger front is power and my R/T came with manual on that side.
I don’t really care if I have power seat over there.
Seems like finding a connector and wiring it up would be a pain.
Trying to see how the frame comes apart.
Hopefully I can get the lower frame and tracks switched over and just leave it manual. Never really tore a seat apart before, any tips?

Too busy barbecuing to mess with the passenger seat, but did order my ProCharger from HHP!

Picked up my ProCharger kit (had it shipped to work address). Fits nicely in the back of the old wagon, it will fit better in the front of the old wagon! Now I have to get my trans back from shop and have driveshaft arrive so I can put the 6.1 in. Also stopped by Pick Your Part and got my power seat connector and some other knick-knacks.

I'm with ya on that. It seems to be mostly cosmetic except for the left wheel hub.

Cleaned the rust off the used 6.1. Exhaust manifolds I picked up a while ago. Also scrubbed down the used front crossmember getting ready to paint it. Engine swap coming soon.

What do you do with battery tender to maintain battery? Is it a car that sits or are there benefits for regularly driven cars?
