Mostly finished the harness job I posted about a few days ago. Got it done except the clips that hold it in place. Got done just in time for the rain this weekend, I can focus on all that plastic prep.......

And now it's all back on, minus the wiper arms and positive post cover in the fuse box (don't have red paint for it and arms need repainted)

Oh yeah, may of repainted the engine bay, what I could get to, all graphite as well

Will eventually paint the coolant tank when it runs again and I can flush it since it's never been done afaik, and the washer tank. But this is it for now till I get the trans rebuilt.

Lookin good!
Will you be using any special paint for the coolant tank?
I have a spare one that I've been mulling about painting satin black
Might at the most use a medium temp engine paint but that's it, doesn't necessarily get engine hot but still pretty warm, it's all in the prep really, a good scotch brite sanding/finishing pad (which is what I used) works just fine for plastics. You can get the ones from just about any hardware store that mimic like steel wool. They come a few different "gauges", I have a fine, medium and extra coarse. I love them because they're like sandpaper but a lot more conformable, sand curves super easy, don't rust like steel wool and hold up super well for being fiber based (at least the 3m ones I have).

Alright alright I guess I'm not done, I installed the shiny pedal kit today and got the matching dead pedal cover and parking brake screwed on. The brake and gas pedal were a tight enough fit I'm not worried about those coming off but the parking brake wasn't an exact fit, and the dead pedal cover was just "3m tape" that wasn't gonna stick to jack. Behind the dead pedal there's an empty "box" that provides that contour so it was just screwed into there with self tappers.

Also made me look at the pedal arms that are rusting apparently lol, gonna have to take care of that next... haven't been able to drive it at all really the past year if not more so it's been neglected inside.

Also that carpet kick panel apparently had a second later of felt on it? So I took that off and it looks a hell of a lot better, wonder if the passenger side is like that?

Changed oil and air filter. Also reshaped the underside of my bumper, as it's new but looks like it was hanging or something so the bottom bowed out a little. Just heated it up, pushed it up with a jack then let it cool into a flat shape underneath. Also finally replaced my lug nuts with Gorillas. The McGard locks have been a nightmare. Two came off regularly a while back, one had to be cut off at a later date, then a replacement ley ordered, that broke immediately yesterday on the first attempt so I had to do the 12pt method.

Be careful with those Gorillas, I had a set that started stripping the lock and rusted where the powder coat scraped off. The hand wrench works fine, but the throw an impact on there and you'll be replacing them after a few tire swaps/brake jobs.

Thanks for the heads up! I'll be sure to do these by hand and by the book.

Did a refresh on my door panels. Had the chrome strips and chrome door openers and the set of wood grain door pulls I had all wrapped in real blue reflective carbon fiber to match my steering wheel.

Also worked with Bob who hooked me up with modifying the ambient lighting feature on these newer 300 door panels. He swapped the LED to blue and provided instructions on how to wire them. Thanks Bob!

Were the chrome strips wrapped on the door panel, or did you have them removed to wrap them. One of mine is cracked, and looking at the backside of the door panel it looks like they are plastic welded on and would be a pain in the a$$ to remove.

Got mine washed with the top option wash. Got home and found that it got the roof and doors clean. So I washed the rest of it again by hand.
Wow, can you imagine what you would have got with their budget wash!:banghead:
