Hello All,
I'm heading to the track (Mid Ohio Road Course) in my 3rd gen Charger 392 Scat Pack (2020). The car is mostly stock except for a CAI. I've driven the track previously in my 2nd gen (2012) SRT Charger. My previous track prep for the SRT consisted of:
- Front adjustable control arm (increased camber)
- Front Frozen rotors paired with front Hawk race pads
- Replace stock brake fluid with Dot 5 high temp brake fluid
- Nitto High Performance Tires (can't remember specific size & model)
- Synthetic oil change
With that track setup, my 2012 SRT performed exceptionally well at Mid Ohio. The brakes never once faded even with exceptionally hard driving. The coolant temp ran hot but would quickly cool off between sessions. The only issue I had was that I blew the Power Steering pump on the last session of the day. I've read that the 3rd gen LX's changed to electric power steering so the issue with the pumps doesn't exist anymore. Is that correct?
I've also read that it's recommended to remove the under-engine panels to provide more engine compartment cooling. That sounds like a good idea and I'll probably do that.
Any other thoughts or suggestions?
