How many pounds? My 18' was about 3600 pounds -- I think the RT is limited to about 4000. I bet the 3.5 is less.

Just happened to have my manual within reach:

Up to 2 persons & Lugg: 2000#/3.5 . . . 2000#/5.7 . . . 3800#/5.7 w/Tow Pkg
Up to 3 persons & Lugg: 2000#/3.5 . . . 2000#/5.7 . . . 3000#/5.7 w/Tow Pkg
Up to 4 persons & Lugg: 1500#/3.5 . . . 1500#/5.7 . . . 1500#/5.7 w/Tow Pkg
Up to 5 persons & Lugg: 1000#/3.5 . . . 1000#/5.7 . . . 1000#/5.7 w/Tow Pkg

Only way to do it is 5.7L w/ tow package (assuming boat is under 3800#)

Taking a boat to the launch ramp a couple times a year really does'nt sound like a big deal. Plus AWD will give great traction. It's not like towing a travel trailer across country. Of course the RT will tow more.

I just came back from towing my travel trailer 1900km ( 1200miles) up into the Okanagan and Kootenay areas of BC. Other then the thirst for fuel it was great ( I averaged 14mpg).

also - most manufacturers meantion frontal area - the Honda Pilot has 2 different Tow ratings - a trailer up to 2500lb and a boat up to 5000lb. The only explaination i can think of is frontal area.

Everyone please be aware that WHATEVER you tow with make sure the trailer has its own brakes if it is over 2000lb.

I tow a car hauler with my Hemi. You dont even know a cars on back. I only tow smaller cars like Corvettes. My trailer dont have brakes and the Hemis brakes stop it just fine. May not be a good idea on a wet road, but I dont have any problems on dry.
