any input: i have the 06 with the tire pressure monitor and runflat tires. i dont think it handles as well as it should, and want to change my setup. questions:
1. should i upgrade to 20's or get the 18inch upsize tires (thinner sidewall, wider tire)
2. if i get new rims, are there aftermarket valve stems that allow me to keep the tire pressure monitor system working

outside of the obvious cost factors...any suggestions????? i see on the 07's 20inch wheels are an option for the magnums, i guess dodge heard the cries!!!

Get the 20's.

You can still use your sensors.

But I suggest you go for a ride on a set running a 45 or 40 series tire and make sure you like the impact it has. Much more road feel.

I love my set-up.

the true answer is that the cars beg for 22s. tires will be 265-35-22 :bling:
I second that but the 265 35 series (thats what i got) are bigger than oem diameter so the speedo is off a lil.
The upsizing guides recommends 22 255 30 series but thats little side wall ouch, I saw a black magnum today lowered on 24s looks nice but i dont want to ride on rubber bands

20's work well (this is why the SRT comes that way) and you will feel the road a bit more.

Now if you go to 22's, you'll REALLY feel the road, so do be warned. 22's don't look too bad, but some can look silly... it might take some searching to find a really nice 22 that isn't over the top.

remember he is an RT. the SXT perfect size it 255-30-22 that is what i have and it is the same height as my stockers. but the RT stock tires are .6 of an inch taller that the SXT. so the 265-35-22 is .7 of an inch taller than stock and the 255-30-22 is .6 shorter so it is a toss up. most guys with RTs are going with the 265-35-22.

have you ever been in a magnum with 22s? you don't feel the road either. i have lowerd mine 2 inches and put 22s on and the ride is an 8 out of 10 campared to the factory height with 17s. bit if you hit a good bump you will feel it stock or not.

I was contimplating whether or not to get 20's or 22's. I decided That if I got 20's and saw others on 22's I knew I had to step up my game. 22's look great and the ride quality never really changed.

I agree and that is why I am leaning toward 20s also but that still leaves a gap so you either have to go with some 50s or 55s or lower it to get the great look along with the wheels.

IMHO (and that's all it is)

If you want a balance between performance and showmanship, get 20's.

If you just want to show the car, get the 22's.

You can buy another set of sensors from your dealer for about $25-30 each, maybe more.

Go with 20's. The first time you get spanked by somone who shouldn't have spanked ya, you'll wish you had gotten the 20's. That extra height and weight does make a difference when it comes to shooting out of the hole. I would rather have the look and the performance. A good wheel dealer should let you try out both sets so you can see how the car is going to ride and how it will perform. There is a reason the SRT comes with 20's.

TO handle that, next stop is the KW V2's and Hotchkiss sways.

mine 06 magnum srt-8 handels better with the air preasure at 36 cold than 30 and it increased my mpg by 1.5. remember the 20 in tires we have are 28.8 in tall so it will hurt your 1/4 performance.
