160* or 180* 'stat?
Stock or larger throttle body?

I'm leaning towards 180* as I remember reading somewhere that the PCM starts to throw a hissy fit if temp stays mid 170s or lower for after "warm up" and am not sure that can be tuned out.

Completely confused on T/B as opinions are all over the place. Personal experiences w/dyno and/or track times preferred. A well sourced write up is good, too.

180 and I don't have a upgraded TB but that doesn't mean you shouldn't! I was getting ready to buy a used 90mm and switch my intake up to a true CAI and wanted to play around with tuning to see if i could make a little more power

I'm running an 06 srt with a maggy blower. I switched from a 180 to a 160, had the fan speeds adjusted and now the water temps are way cooler. When cruising they stay around 156-165f depending on the weather. Around a road course, I couldn't get the water temps over 205f. Oil temp reached 260f. On the street I noticed that my oil temps stay a little lower than ideal(around 180-190F) when cruising.

You will need to have you tuner adjust the computer to not throw codes because of the cooler temps.

As far as the Throttle body is concerned, I am currently running an 80mm. I have a 90mm that I will be throwing on at some point. My snout is ported for a 90mm, and because of that, my tuner mentioned that I may see an increase in power. Will report back with the results.

What kind of benefit do you get from the lower Tstat temp? Coolant temp doesn't have that big an effect on spark, air temp is the big factor, so I wouldn't expect much extra spark -> extra torque. Is it avoiding over temps on the track? Thanks!

Cooler water helps keep the entire engine cooler. All aspects...oil temps, air charge, etc etc, especially in forced injunction applications and or track driven cars, like you mentioned.

I run a 180 degree thermostat, a BBK 90mm throttle body and also added a swirl cool oil cooler. I dont have any prior to install numbers or records to verify but I would think in the summer a cooler running motor prolongs wear and oil life, my personal reason for adding them ..the throttle body will allow that hemi to take in a greater volume of air...isnt the stock SRT and Hellcat throttle body larger?
