The easiest, safest and economical way to jack Charger

Yesterday, I changed the rotors and pads, on my 15 Hellcat Charger.I jacked up the front driver side, with my low profile jack, on the subframe (at the triangle). I then slid a jack stand under the front lower control arm mount and let the car down onto the stand. I then moved the jack to the rear jack point, just in front of the rear tire, and lifted the rear of the car, placing a jack stand under the cradle, where the lower swing arm mounts. With the driver side of the car in the air, I was able to service front and rear brakes, then copy this method on the passenger side. The pinch weld access points were designed for emergency use only, with a roadside scissor jack. I would never recommend servicing a vehicle with a scissor jack, nor using the pinch weld locations for service. Chrysler designed, into the platform, solid, recommended, useable lift points. I can't tell you how many posts I've read where people have crushed, or bent their pinch welds, because they tried to lift from them. Adapters are a great marketing ploy and whomever came out with them, did a hell of a job convincing people they need their product... when all they need is a jack and jack stands, in the right locations. You're correct... on SOME vehicles, you may need to drive up on a 2x6, to get the jack under the car. I have to do this in the HC, but not the wifes RT Magnum. This will be my last brake service, with jack stands and a jack. I'm ordering the 7000 pound quickjack, in a couple of weeks. That should do the trick :)BobLux Technologies - LuX Technologies - Custom Interior Light Mods for Chrysler / Dodge / Jeep Platforms [LX/LC/WK]
I took the same approach for rotating the tires however I'm still not clear that I'm using the right "point" to jack from in the front... I'm going to take a pic to see... the diagram isn't 100% clear to me

Ok I see now , it's the plate with the bolts... thank you both.
My jack fits under there as it's low profile but the part that touches the car isn't flat , so do I need a different attachment? Seems with the cutouts that it's not going to match up well with a flat surface which is why I was using my spot to jack up the car lol...

While on subject, if that is the jack point, where is the spot where the jack stand can be placed? I see that too is not a flat surface. Here's a better shot of each

no, my jack is low profile and fits all the way under the car ... I was more asking how that point on the top of the jack, should connect to the plate that we have now determined to be the jack point as it is flat and the top of the jack is not... it has cutouts... just making sure that top of the jack can lift the car from the flat jack point.... or if some other adapter should be used in place of that cut out circle thing that comes with the jack...

Thanks for this. The back is clear as day, can’t miss the rubber thing lol. So the front you are saying on the triangle is the point to lift?, not the plate with the three bolts or my initial spot towards the outside of that plate?

yea I don't think I'll have to worry about jacking up a Lambo..... LOLmeanwhile I was jacking it wrong, thanks to all for this thread...perhaps they can make it a sticky? surely others will need to see this in the future...

Thankfully due to my business I've gotten to drive quite a few modern exotics. The Aventador is huge and so short in person. I don't think I could get used to it. You feel like everyone is gonna run into you not seeing u next to them. So make sure you get a bright color. MPG is worse than 2 Hemi's combined lol but hey it comes with the territory. Huracan by far is the best driving one it's AMAZING. If you can get one of those track laps offers for like $300 I highly recommend it. Refraining from one of those that's what she said jokes. :p hopefully that's not what she said lol
LOL thanks... I left myself open for that one ...

And I don’t think my charger came with a jack or spare so how can there be a recall? Perhaps the sub scat pack models?

this is actually a very helpful thread. I got a new jack recently not sure which one it is but it's low profile for sure. it was the only one they had at AAP locally and I needed it that day as my old one stop working somehow the day I went to rotate the tires LOL...I do have jack stands too and I just leave the front on the jack stand and the back on the jack (even though I know they should both be on jack stands). Guess I answered my own question too, going to use both on jackstands moving forward no reason to chance anything...

The proper tools and safety aren't worth skimping on, like I said Darwinism LOL!!! I've seen a lot of shade tree engineering in my time but there's more young dummies today that have much less common sense than the young dummies when I was younger.
that sure is the truth.. my son who drives just came back from a trail bike ride and when I looked he left the bike in the garage all filled with dirt and the back wheel release was just about off, and the wheel was rubbing to one side hitting the brakes... i brought him out and started asking him if he felt the resistance and if he knew what these levers are even for... and it was like a deer in headlights look... unreal.. I tried to teach him today... he was a few bumps from the back tire coming off and wrecking and he would have no idea how to put it back together either. forget him working on his charger one bit.. so sad LOL... and you all know I'm not mr. mechanic but I mean these kids today are ridiculous...
