Watched the Dark Knight yesterday with my friends...unfortunately i was very sober and i regret that. I flat out hated the movie, total waste of time. I like most of the past ones and def the comics (so im not a Batman hater or anything) but this movie was too blahh. Maybe they'll get the next one right??
:blam:

Did some googling on the matter...

it was long and dragged at some parts.

but honestly.. the joker made the movie for me.
i hope Heath's corpse wins an oscar for the movie... he did some of the best acting ive ever seen.
he MADE that character.

maybe i was just so impressed by the joker that the rest of the movie didnt matter, but i did enjoy it

The movie was alright for me. I did feel that Heath's performance made it as good as it couldve been. Kinda melancholy knowing that we'll never see Heath do the joker again.

Wow Motor, Im real surprised here.

Im about the last person to jump on the bandwagon and like something just because so many others do. Hell, Im a Sox fan living on the northside of Chicago surrounded by mindless, idiotic Cub fans after all....... :panic:

BUT, I honestly feel that The Dark Knight could be one of my most favorite movies of all time. Everything about it just kicks complete ass. And the fact that it was all filmed in Chicago makes it even sweeter for me. Music, actor choices, costumes, set design, automotive design, make-up, plot..... everything was perfectly executed. My only fear is that it will be extremely tough for them to top the next time around.

Yes, its a bit long, but after watching it a dozen times or so, I really dont know what you could cut out of the movie to shorten it?? Everything makes sense and just fits.

I dont know what else to say. I know not everyone will always like a certain something, but this movie was definitely amazing in my eyes.

I took my son to see the IMAX version of it a while back.

There were some good parts, but overall I was underwhelmed.

Batman Begins was MUCH better, IMHO.

Yeah Batman Begins was a better movie. I was expecting more, but I still liked the movie. The cell phone sonar thing was a bit of a stretch for me.

Now see, that surprises me. While I do think that Batman Begins was a good movie, I think it was nowhere near the movie that the Dark Knight was.

Yes, I agree, the whole cell phone sonar thign was a bit of a stretch for me.... but when you are a billionaire, I guess you can have products like that made up for ya... ;)

But, the Dark Knight just seemed so much more real. It took place in a real city with real everything. After watching the first one, I dont like how "animated" the city was.... train on a monorail so high off the ground and all that. Made it seem like fantasy island. Then the whole water evaporator thing making the drugs active in the city's water supply??? WTF is that all about? Lastly, the whole ninja training thing near the beginning is totally off the wall. Then, the people that teach Bruce Wayne to fight injustice want to punish a corrupt city by forcing wicked drugs upon them?

Seriously?

Ill take the Dark Knight all day over that.....

Just my two cents here. Not trying to start any arguments of any kind, but I really like talking about this movie with people. Curious to see what others think about it.

Ill take the fantasy/fiction stuff with no problems...its how the Batman character started...and those gloomy dark cities really worked for me as well. Dark Knight to me feels more like watching a recent Bond movie.

I just finished watching it. Not bad, but somewhat of a let down. The Joker not dying in the end was a part of it. A decent ending would have been a corrupt cop shooting the Joker at the end, or a mobster shooting him. The lack of story surrounding the Joker... maybe... I'll have to watch it again to give a better opinion.

As far as other Bat Movies, although complete camp, the Batman Movie based on the 60's TV series was classic comedy. The Tim Burton film were great. The most realistic in my view (although the city shots looked like they were filmed in a sound stage, worst in Returns movie, where all of the City cars were Volkswagons, cop cars all Plymouth Reliants). Forever, although delving back into camp, was actually a good story, Batman's identity found out by enimies, not bad. Batman and Robin was by far the worst, WAYYYY to much camp, but it did have Uma Thurman and Alicia Silverstone (Check that, Alicia Silverstone when she was chunky...gag...).

Well, just so you know.... as I was told, the original ending was supposed to entail the Joker cutting himself down from the rope he's hanging from (because he always kept knives in his pockets), and then falling to his death after revealing how he had turned Harvey Dent into his lasting legacy, if you will. However, that portion of the movie was cut once Heath Ledger passed away in real life and mended to be what it is now.

I understand the motivation for cutting that part and can respect that, but I still think it would have been better to finish it as planned. Would have provided a lot more closure.
