I'm picking up my new 2006 Magnum R/T in a couple days (man am I pumped) and I'm working on lining up my first round of mods. I'm looking for upgraded sway bars but from what I can tell, the Eibach and Hotchkis bars don't fit the AWD Magnums. Most sites state they won't find the AWD and the manufacturer sites look that way as well. I've look all around for an answer but can't seem to find it. Does anyone know some sway bars that will fit the AWDs? Thanks.

I've yet to see anything about them being offered. If there are any rumors about someone making them, I'm sure it would show up here. I know there are several AWD'ers waiting.

Are both bars different or just the front? Now I'm going to have to look.
Good question... I know the fronts are very different. I haven't looked at the backs though.

Hey, MontelG, I didn't notice last night that this was your first post. Welcome to the forum and congrats on the new Magnum. Be sure to let us know how you like it, and post some pics after you pick her up!

The backs have got to be pretty similar. Not any room back there to put one somewhere else... trust me :) Adding the front driveshaft though really pisses in your cheerios in terms of packaging.

Nothing to pull apart, at least not on the RWD... it's right there out in the open, you may just want to get the front wheels up on a curb or ramps to get your head further underneath.

I know what the rear drive set looks like, they are hanging on the garage wall.I need to get under the AWD and pull the belly pans down and look at those.

I mean the front bar... if the AWD setup is similar to the RWD then it's mounted so you can see it from behind the front tires, without pulling the undercladding.

Thanks for the welcome MyMaggieMae. I pick it up in the morning. I've got a Grand Cherokee with the 5.7 now so I'm looking forward to finding the differences. Sounds like I'll be waiting on the sway bars. I think I'll call a few manufacturers and see if they are working on something. I see some of the exhausts say they don't fit AWDs so I suspect there must be a little something different toward the back.

Any of the cat-back systems should fit, the catted mid-pipes don't and of course no long tube headers, but the shortys work

So, here is what I was told on complete kits for the AWD's....
  • Hotchkis --> No kit for the AWD and nothing in the works. Tech/Sales guys says he is hoping they produce one but not likely before next year.
  • Eibach --> No kit for the AWD and no current plans to make one.
  • Hellwig --> No kit for the AWD and no current plans to make one.
So, since the rears will fit what does everyone think about upgrading just the rear and leaving the front stock? Any reason to think it would negatively affect the handling?

Just a thought...... What about removing the factory rubber bushings and replacing them with a good urethane bushing. Might be less flex than the rubber. Remember the bushings have to flex all the way before the sway bar can help.
