/\/\/\ yup. Same one. Mine is an '05 AWD 5sp. In '05 you had to have the AWD to get more than a 4spd.

BTW: This thread might get interesting as I am going to have JohnParts do the swap for me. Cenobite, update me with what you find out.

Well you already have lots of advice. I say do it. You have plenty of time to find deals on parts, start collecting. If you have any questions about what else you need feel free to ask me. But that charger forum guy did a good job of covering all the stuff (if it's the same guy I know about). And don't let anybody BS you, the bodies are 100% indentical, everything will swap right in.

I dont think I'll find a Magnum in good condition 5 years down the road, even the SRT ones but they will still produce the engines for 300, charger and the new Challenger.

Besides I got a good deal on mine.

Simple question, will it fit?
I agree, would be easier to trade up and besides have all the suspension upgrades besides. 5 years down the road, what condition do you think YOUR Magnum will be in, especially after driving it in the winter? It is a daily driver, right? There are quite a few members on this board (I met one that lives near me) that store thier Magnums through the winter and drive something else through the snow. So they are putting wayyy less miles on thiers than I am on mine that is a daily driver. 5 years down the road, you might find a Magnum with 30k or less on it.

Personally, I'll be ready for a new car in 5-6 years. Life is too short to drive the same car for 10 years, none the less one with less than 300HP :)

With the way the Government is headed with bailing out GM and Chrysler you should wait for the 30+ MPG, wagon/sportscar/suv. It WILL arrive in one of those versions.

You have a 5.7 Magnum and you're going to pull the motor, trans, and all the running gear out of it and stick all that into a 2.7 Magnum?
PLUS all the electronics? You'll also have to swap in the ECU, the ABS, FCM, TCM, Cluster, (not to mention the wiring harness) and all the modules that share the VIN number on the 5.7 car.

Why on earth would you do that? If the 5.7 is wrecked or corroded, you're better off pulling body and frame parts off of the 2.7 car and fixing up the 5.7, not the other way around.
