does the factory amp have enough juice to power subs in the rear or would I have to add another sub? I love to get more thump.
You need to add an amp if you want to thump, no way around it. Best solution its to find an amp witha remote gain control so you can adjust the amount of thump from the drivers seat.

You'll have to talk to him, but I felt all was reasonable...........I mean, we're talking custom work here.

I am using an old-school Punch 75 (maybe 15 years old) and an Image Dynamics 10"...............

Robby is inclosing both sides for me; amp flush on one side with the speaker on the other side.

Go look at his website..........Art of Noise; a link is on his signature. There are pictures there of his work.

I love the sound of my AON enclosure. I also have an Image Dynamics 10", ran an Alpine 350W @ 2 ohms on one channel, the sub is a dual voice coil. Tapped into the front door speakers where all the lowest freq's hang out.

Dont' see how I could need any more power for a single 10". Been thinking about upgrading to a 12".. hmmm..

Thanks guys for the recommendations, I really appreciate it. :thumbs_u:

The AoN enclosures allow you to keep all your cargo space, allow full access to your spare, and give you a back massage along with your favorite tunes.

I can make them for any sub you have and wrap them in whatever material you'd like, although most people opt for the color matched vinyl. If you haven't decided on subs yet I would highly recommend Dayton Reference. They are some of the best sounding subs today, on par with the JL 10w6v2 for a fraction of the price. Everyone who I've demoed them to has been thoroughly impressed. http://www.artofnoiseaudio.com/dayton10ho.php

You can purchase the enclosures at the website here:

If you have any more questions, ask away!

-are you able to use plexiglass (or whatever clear stuff is used for sub boxes) for the fronts of the box so you can see the sub? does that distort the sound at all?

-what mounting depth are you able to get outta that cubbie hole?

-have you heard the newer Xtant subs (X104 specifically)? i heard those for a first time and was real impressed. How do the Dayton's compare?

i think thats all the q's i got :) thanks!

The AoN enclosures allow about 7" of max depth. 6" max is safer because since I don't own every sub ever made, it is tough to be sure a 7" depth will fit. If you are willing to remove the plastic piece on the botton of the panel (the piece that goes down below the floor and is held on with plastic rivets), then you can fit an 8" or 9" sub in the pocket.

I've never heard the x-series subs, so I can't give you a direct comparison. I can say that the Daytons perform better than every mass marketed sub I've heard within double their price. They sound better than the Alpine Type R, JL 10w3, Rockford T1, and the Infinity Perfects. If you are looking for all out volume, there are louder subs, but if you want sound quality, the Dayton Reference is hard to beat.

I've been pondering the plexiglass panel for the face of the enclosure. I think the best way to do it would be to build a lip on the inside perimeter of the enclosure that the plexi could mount onto. It would require the inside to be finished and painted(or finished somehow), so that it looks good. If you'd like to explore that more, send me a pm.

Anything else, let me know!
