I know you will all be fairly biased, haha, but I need an honest opinion.

The dealership I bought my R/T Charger (R&T package) from in June called and offered me an upgrade for 100 more a month then what I'm paying now. They have a red SRT Magnum (the only magnum I really like) and it's not selling.

The parts manager is a good drinking buddy of mine, and he told the sales rep to give me a call.

Here's the problem... I have no idea how much worse the gas mileage is on the SRT vs. the RT, and I need my car for a winter car, at least for this winter and next. I know the SRT only takes premium, but honesty, with gas prices the way they are.. does it really matter anymore over 3 cents? I pay that much every second week anyway when prices fluctuate.

I really like both cars, I've put some coin into my RT already, and my RT only has 5000k. With the smoking deal I got, they will give me what I paid for it, so other then the mods I put in (which I would remove if they can crossover to an SRT) I'm out no money. Please help, and remember, as biased as you are, I need this car for winter, is an SRT out of the question?

My Mag SRT gets about 2-3 mpg less than my R/T did over an average tank.I cant say about winter as I garage it.It is well worth the cost of upgrading just for the suspension and brakes.

I think the SRT8 is great on gas considering the power, etc.

My fiance has a 06 Honda Ridgeline, and she gets 15MPG. Go figure.

The car in the winter time is going to be similar to your car in winter time. If you really wanna drive it in the winter, a set of winter tires should be more than okay.

100 bucks more for a new srt is great. maybe even try to talk them down a little more

i get 16 mpg on average. i drive in a lot of traffic and cant keep my foot off the gas pedal. ive gotten 18 on ths same commute, but its hard to not hit the go pedal my awd RT was slightly worse on gas and i was babying it around trying to get the best outa it.

worst i ever got was about 14 and i was beating the snot out of it every chance i got just to see what i would get.

As for the mileage, our SRT-8 got 18.6mpg with the cruise set on 78mph. It has shown 21mpg at 65mph. I just cant drive that slow when Im on a road trip.

My wife gets 17.5mpg in her daily work loop.

do it. I upgraded from an R/T to a SRT as well. RT was getting 16 ish MPG's city, while my SRT gets 14ish city. Go for it.!

I just upgraded from an R/T to a Msrt-8 i cant give you mileage yet i have only 148 miles on it and it sits in the dealer right now because the PCM went bad...but even though it had a small problem i love the car alot...nothing compared to my R/T not saying the R/T wasnt any good it was,just this car is AWESOME......

I usually got 18-20mpg in my RT. I get a rock-solid 17mpg now.

I have a 2005 MRT Inferno Red and I'm looking all the time for DRT take off TOYS on Ebay... got the suspension for $407 delivered... the wheels and tires - street price on ebay is $1900... the seats alone... Street price is $2000 (go ask Chargum - he beat me out on 'em)... and the BRAKES - $hit - I've seen them go for $1500 for a set. Then ... on top of all that... you've got the hood, front facia and don't forget the rear end gear ratio is geared for speed as opposed to gas mileage... and last, and certainly not least... the piece de resistance... the 6.1L engine.... 425 HP unmodified, more Modification friendly due to No MDS.

Let us know when you get it... not IF... but WHEN! Send damn pics and come back here and brag about the peachy deal you got so those that have their SRT's can cry and those that are holding out hope that the SRT gods will smile upon us and deliver similar deals can continue to hope...
