Is there a company that makes a shiftkit for the nag1. I have a hhp tcm but I want less slippage and faster shifts.

that's him

Builder Bill says he has valve bodies.

That is where the cheap gains are for stock and near stock. This assumes you haven't wounded the trans.

Full trans upgrades are needed if you're in the high HP club. He's got you covered there too.

hOLLY SH&T LOU. 6 OR 7 TRANSMISSIONS! What the hell are you running?

I'm just running my mouth at the moment. This is what I WAS running:

That was a 420 stroker with a 150 shot through a fogger and a 400 shot through a direct port system. It went lean on the passenger side bank and blew and caught on fire at the 1000' mark in Atlanta, but still turned an 11.9 (at 98 mph!). Now it is in re-build mode at Injected Engineering. Part of the in and out on the trannies was R&D with BuilderBill, I guess I legitimately blew up three, the others were test mules (including the last one, that looked very good upon tear down). The frustrating thing for me this past year was that when I had a bodacious motor, I didn't have the tranny; when I had the tranny, the motor went south. I'm hoping for better outcomes in '09.

Unless Redfox99 beats me to the track with his new build, that is still the fastest/quickest Magnum so far.

Damn Lou thats looks like fun!

Fun? Sure...

Cuz I was born with a birth defect that causes me to crap $100 bills.....
I dont think $100 bills cut it at that point LOL

There is a theory floating around out there that until somebody learns how to defeat the TCM adaptives any TCM will eventually return to stock over time--regardless of who flashed it and how.

This is pure hear-say, however.
If that really is more then hear-say...I tell you that is alot $100 Bills being used as A$$ whipes and flushed down the toilet.

Okay I have another question along the same line... Since as Lou pointed out

With the Predator what would Clear TCM adaptives help?

Friends, this looks like fairly dangerous water to be sticking a toe into, but for what it's worth, I'm keeping my powder dry on this issue for a while. Of course, I don't have much choice since my engine bay is empty, but there you have it.

I do think it is a prudent line of inquiry to ask: "What are the TCM adaptives for, anyway?" "Do they serve any useful purpose in a performance application?" and "If not, can they be silenced?"

Where's the funkmeister when you need him? Le Foohnkment Poulet? Oue?

disclaimer: going from memory here, so info may not be as accurate as i'd like it to be.

i can't speak for Mopar or any other aftermarket or modified TCMs but the factory TCM adaptives log, memorize and update CVI (clutch volume index). each clutch has it's own CVI.

CVI is measured by the amount of time it takes between the time the solenoid is activated and the time when the pressure switch is tripped. this time is then used to calculate how much fluid it takes to fill the clutch. as the clutch wears, CVI increases.

the TCM uses CVI to calculate PWM (pulse width modulation) of the solenoids for clutch applications. the higher the CVI, the higher the pulse width and the faster the fluid flows through the solenoid to fill the clutch. this allows for consistant shifts throughout the transmission's lifespan (kinda like an automatic adjuster).

i'm guessing that a modified TCM (either bought that way or Diablo adjusted shift firmness) changes the way the processor sees CVI. i'll have to experiment with my Diablo and starscan.

there may be other parameters that are logged into adaptives but CVIs are the only ones i'm sure of.

i have no idea wether or not it can be disabled. that's a question for someone with a much bigger brain than mine. :tinfoilhat:

This is why I pondered to ask the question as the B&G was suppose to do the following

Modified TCM Torque management
Modified Rev Limit
Modified Stall Speed
Modified Line Pressures
Modified Clutch on/off apply variables
Modified TCM adaptive memories
Modified Shift Schedule
Modified Auto Stick engagement

So what is it exactly doing to adaptive memories.... and WOULD Clearing via Predator HELP or HINDER ?

I could just the the flying leap and do it and see if Humpty Dumpty falls off.

Lou can you send me a stool sample!:thumbs_u:

Has anyone heard of, or talked to MHP?? They tune all kinds of high end exotics. And apparently, they have tuned, 2 of the fastest GC SRT8's. I guess they have software, to literally re-write the code in the ECM/TCM. Which means virtually anything should be possible. I dont know if this stuff holds any weight. But it might be worth checking out. The guy garuntees he can get more power, and better driveability than any CMR tuner out there. He said he used to do the CMR tunning, but it doesnt hold a candle to the new software they use.

Ujokin2: I'm way over my head in this discussion. No answers here. I depend on the experts myself.

duce: That is the most hilarious request I've gotten in a while. Do you use PayPal? I'm feeling a dump coming on!
I take PooPal if there will 100 dollar bills included in the sample........

Just so you guy's know, Dave@B&G does all the TCM and tuning for MHP.
