Well I finally got the nerve to take my headlights apart and paint the chome to black. Follow all the steps in various threads and still ended up breaking some plastic. This turned into a freaking cluster. Painted then while drying the headlight bezel which was hanging to dry fell on the floor and hit something before getting there. Then after it was sanded and repainted I installed them back into the assembly. Here's where the fun started. While applying silicone adhesive to the assembly one end of the tube decided to explode. FML. Silicone was all ove the freshly painted bezel.
Got everything finally assembled about three hours later after letting the silicone setup I went to bolt the headlight assemblies back into the car. Que my second FML moment. Assembly slips out of my hand and hits the floor breaking a mounting tab. Now mind you these are supposed to have two, but since prior to me owning this it had been involved in a "small" front end accident making the assembly have only one mounting tab since the body shop fealt the need to piece the car back together.
Stay tuned next week while I chronicle on how to order two new assemblies in black from Ebay and install them. Wasted an entire day and kicked myself thinking this is what I should have done from the get go. I have $50.00 saying they leak within a day. Bwahahahaha.
