Any advice on a performance shop in the Northern Virginia area for our Hemis?
High Horse Performance in Delaware. They're your best bet in the north. If you were to travel a bit south, I'd say MMX. If anyone, and I mean ANYONE recommends Better Built Performance, stop whatever you're doing and one by one, take every tooth they have out of their head.

Thanks. Even HHP is 150 miles. I see a lot of shops in my area but most look like ricer shops.

Haha, I'll keep it in mind if someone suggests Better Built!

I'm serious about Better Built. What part of Virginia? There's National Speed in Richmond, but I don't consider that Northern. You must be in Alexandra/ Fredericksburg area.

Yes, Sterling, Manassas, Fairfax. Alexandria or Fredricksburg are not far.

I use a shop with guys I trust for most work. They are not a performance shop though. They did a fine job putting a new rear in my Lincoln and new intake. Lift kit on my truck went well. Multiple general things such as new control arms, alignments and all. Dialing in a new cam and plugging the MDS might be a little different though...

I'm in NC and have had no experience with the following. Both had well known mopar speed shops in the past...

So I talked with a guy fron High Horse today about doing a camshaft. I was surprised when he recommended the HRT Stage 3 cam. He said it will give a nice lope and really let you know a cam is in there. He said a torque converter upgrade would be nice with it but not a must.

I wondered if anyone had any experience with this cam. Looking on YouTube I see most opt for the stage 2. But even the description in Summit says the 3 is a good cam for the 392.

I didn't want to mess with long tubes, the stock manifold is close to a set of shorties. It has a Corsa exhaust and CIA. I am not sure if the larger cam would benefit from an increased throttle body.

Another question is how this affects emissions inspection. I have to get one every 2 years in VA to keep tags. Will a proper tune get through this? It is a 2012 car...

I have a June date set with HHP to get a HRT stage 2 cam installed. I am going to have oil pump, water pump, thermostat and timing chain done too.

Meanwhile I tried replacing the axle since I have a bad boot. It kicked my butt and I just could not get the axle out. I could not get the exhaust off with only the back jacked up so the diff couldnot drop far enough. I couldn't get it out taking the hub apart either. I am throwing in the towel and will let my usual guys do it.
