I have to order a new grill so hmmm??? I have one question could you make the cetner beam just a tidge smaller?
Yes smaller, or even put two of them in there as suggested earlier. Looks good though!chuckles_1205 said:I have to order a new grill so hmmm??? I have one question could you make the cetner beam just a tidge smaller?
That's hilarious.mopower said:Good Idea Vinny, but I think it makes him look kind of retarded. Any other suggestions?

Two skinny bars is not good for production in fiberglass, Sorry.lowriderman3 said:Yes smaller, or even put two of them in there as suggested earlier. Looks good though!
correctFrom what I understand, the real one was a one-off custom. It seems to be a show car for some high end stereo install group.
sound decision of montgomery il. sounddecisioninc.com2. Who makes this hood and how do I get one?!?!!
THAT's what I was trying to describe. Nicely done.mopower said:Here you go

THis one has the thinner center bar, which I think may look better. what looks better, bar1 or bar2mopower said:here is a smaller bar, Lets call them bar1, bar2, bar 2 being the smaller.

The profile would be that the center bar would be slightly curved to match the shape of the nose, and would be set in about 1/2" but should still be visible from the side.RTPablo said:Mopower,
What would you envision the profile to be? Would you see the horizontal bar or not? At first I liked your original grill, then I was second guessing it. Not sure how I feel about the side profile. I am sure it looks different in person. Unfortunatley I am not in FLA to take a look!
Actually, I think it flows quite well, and matches the lower horizontal bar, the horizontal indentations under the headlights, and compliments the vertical raised bar on the hood. For some reason many, even SmokeRT at first, have asked for this particular design....can't please everyone. I may try that Idea you have, but there is a hurricane coming to Miami today, and my internet and power sometimes get knocked out for a week or two, so I may not be able.MattRobertson said:What if you were to slim DOWN even the thinner center bar, and inserted a like-weighted center vertical piece? Perhaps mold it just like the real center piece (I've seen CV's car in person)? The thing I think I'm not digging about any of these is it looks to me as if what I'm seeing here doesn't flow in any way with the lines of the car. Your original vertical-only bar worked visually as the hood's center ridge 'backed it up' so to speak.
If you add back in the vertical crosspiece, and made both pieces thin enough not to be visually overpowering (and blend them like you did the real one), what you would have is a more muscular version of the factory look.
I think![]()
FYI... the car went to auction TODAY... this was a one-off ALL-ALUMINUM hood, so no mold exists to reproduce them in fiberglass, nor do will they still have the car to make a mold off of it. I'm bummed as hell now. :friday:colossus3200 said:![]()

ok ok if anyone wants the number to the shop that makes the hood pm me there only like 5min from my house and thats where i get all my stereo work done so i know them and this mag pretty well. but its expensive!
It certainly isn't a problem for me, since I do all my own design and prototype work, but I don't think I would undertake a project like this one unless I thought it would be in demand, and even then, I would not make it the same as this one. Probably would be a more flared and higher nostril scoop. I will some day take this pic and photochop what I think I would like better.Super T said:FYI... the car went to auction TODAY... this was a one-off ALL-ALUMINUM hood, so no mold exists to reproduce them in fiberglass, nor do will they still have the car to make a mold off of it. Ditto... I'd pay whatever the other guys want for a hood and them some for something that looked like this.Bandit said:Make someday soon please!
