Nakamichi MB-X

My buddy picked up a Nakamichi b/c it was one of the few aftermarket stereos that looks close to OEM in his V-dub GTI. And I'll admit, it matches the blue and red colors and the styling and everything. But hooooly hell does he hate it. CD player gives random read errors all the time, display flickers out once in a while, and it sounds like it's got crazy low bass and high treble boost with absolutely no mids, even when he EQ's it out to be the opposite. I don't know the model number, supposedly it was an imported model. But based on that one experience, I'd say be afraid.
