Getting real tired of living in New York. Just went to one of those automated car washes tonight and paid 72 cents tax on a $9 car wash. WTF?! Never paid tax before on a car wash. Must be a new money making tax. Like when I roadtripped on the thruway coming from Tennesee this last summer. Was free until I hit the New York border.... then had to pay a fee. Take the Interstate from Rochester N.Y. thru Massachusetts (Boston area) ...$10 thru N.Y., about $4 thru MA. That's why more residents are leaving N.Y. (state, not city) than coming in. Residents are just getting real tired of the cost of living here. Just getting real frigging ridiculous.

In North Carolina we pay 31 cents per gallon gas tax. They are talking about increasing it and make you pay a "special" tax on how many miles you drive. The flip side is our property taxes are much lower.

It's only going to get better too. They want to raise the gas tax again (not making enough since less people are driving). I'm waiting for the tax on the air we breathe.

Just wait, it is only going to get worse if the State gets its way. For any of you outside of NY here is an example of how crazy it is getting. The Governor has proposed new taxes on things like Non-Diet Soda and other sugared drinks including things like Gatorade, movies & sporting events and music downloads just to name a few, there are 88 proposed new taxes and fee hikes for things like Drivers Licenses and Vehicle registrations to balance the budget for this year.

Hear in PA it's 50 cents per gallon and the tolls on the Turn Pike just went up today.

I got an idea... NYS needs to stop rewarding people on welfare... Set a limit like unemployment, want help from the Gov, sign an agreement stating you will no longer procreate until you can provide on your own. Instead of people returning to prison over and over, if the rehab didnt happen on your first sentence, second chance, ok Ill be nice, 3rd strike = leathal injection I dont care what you did, you no longer shall bear a burden upon society. Violent crimes that carry a life sentence = more lethal injection... Why waste tax money to carry a group of people that will not put anything back in. You want help from the gov... show me a tax id or social security card, oh your an illeagal go home.

I think we got ya beat here in Ontario. There is a lowest legal price for beer. The companies can't sell it for less even if they want to,...and it just went up. Nanny state thinking that if it is more expensive, fewer people will drink. Anyway, not to steal the thread, i think we are all feeling the pinch.

New York tax is so high because we are THE Welfare state. Easiest state in the U.S. to get on Welfare. That's not my opinion, that is the statistical fact. Then we give Welfare to people that aren't even citizens of this country. WTF is up with that?! If we went to another country, do you think they would take care of us? Hell no, they would say get the hell out. The U.S. takes care of everyone but their own. Yet out disabled veterans have to sell frickin address labels to get donations. Our government doesn't want to do sh** for them.

Just wonder how long the middle class is suppossed to support everyone else. Especially when the middle class workers are losing thier jobs in droves ....
