no, no and no.Hemi31 said:Wouldn't it be cheaper and easier to put a set of 6.1 heads and intake on?To make this work you would have to make spacers for the stock intake on the 5.7 if you milled the heads enough to get 10.5.Not to mention how badly your gonna throw off the valve train geometry. And you may risk piston to valve contact.
So you know something I don't about milling?Taking off enough material will essentially move the intake mounting sufaces further apart, and the composit intake can't be machined to fit.MomsR/T said:no, no and no.
Maybe we can't get ALL of 10.5 but its being worked on now. Maybe 10.2
i took .050 off my LS1 heads and the composit intake fit fine. do they have the rubber o-rings around the intake ports on the hemi intake like the ls1 intake has?Hemi31 said:So you know something I don't about milling?Taking off enough material will essentially move the intake mounting sufaces further apart, and the composit intake can't be machined to fit.
they arent matched from the factory either!Hemi31 said:Still would not match the intake!
Wasn't meant for you DAT,didn't quote when I should have:wink:DriveATransam said:they arent matched from the factory either!
I know it's not a SBC.I have done many Hemi's in the past.I think you may have an issue with the intake if you mill too much. That's my opinion,I hope you prove me wrong.65standard said:milling the heads is $120. that is a lot cheaper than buying 6.1 heads, 6.1 intake, and 6.1 headers. you will have to look at the motor, it isn't a SBC. geometer and clearance will not be a problem. i can do my own port work.
