land ho!

Many of you have heard me talking about the 42 acres we are hoping to purchase soon...we have been working on septic issues, but we should close in a few months, and start building a detached garage with an apartment over it next spring. We will move into the apartment when it is completed, then sell our current home, then build our new home!

Here are some pics...there is a road that goes through the property to one guy's land behind us, and also a straight 400 yard shot cut through it for power lines that will be John's personal rifle range for his shooting practice!

We are excited..just wanted to share!

Wow. How totally foreign is that to a California boy like me where half a million buys you a 2 bed 1 bath condo with no land.

CV...this will blow your mind then...we will get the land for probably about 110-120,000!!

The only land we will be clearing is for our house!

But I will definitely call on all of you for "free" labor! hehe

I will have to post some pics from last winter, when we walked the land and saw about 7 deer stands and a lot of wildlife..it was beautiful. I am so looking forward to not having to answer to a homeowner's association!

You know you guys are always welcome...but be forewarned, we might put you to work!

Yes, well water...and we are trying to figure out the septic system since the land didn't perc..hence the reason we haven't closed yet. We are looking at alternative systems versus adding the soil to make it work.

It does snow here in NC occasionally...I can't wait to see what it looks like in the snow!

No fencing...but there is an old shotgun house on the property that is pretty run down..hubby is going to fix it up as a clubhouse for our son, and supposedly there is also an old gin still on the property (about 1/4 mile from the river, and it was an old moonshine area)...haven't found that yet tho!

Great looking land Sue, good luck on closing the deal.
My wife is a senior health inspector here in Fredericton and knows about everthing there is to know about septic systems, if you need some info P.M. me, would be glad to help.

That is a bummer about the internet access...no cable..so we are looking at satellite.

Was the wide line that starts at the upper right and then down the middle, the power lines?

Yes, the wide line through the middle of the property in the GIS pic is the power lines/future rifle range...and the smaller line that goes from left to right is the road
