This is a feel good thread, so lets keep it that way with your stories please.
This is what happened to me...
As all of us are aware, times are tough.
My job has just cut me back to 4 days a week, so that is no great thing but, at least I have some marketable skills to make up the money with. So with my new 3 day weekends, I have decided to work on improving my life and my house.
One of the tasks is to streamline all the crap I have been hanging on to. So my task this weekend was to clean out my spare room. It is actually my Gym, but has been buried for over a year and a half now. (I want to get back in shape this year too)
Anyway, I pull out all the crap I have been stacking in there, fit most of it back in the closet where it belongs, the rest is garbage or donations.
This is where things get kind of interesting.
2 years ago on my birthday I received a 24" lcd monitor for my computer. So my 19" CRT monitor went into the spare room. ( one day I might need it as a backup )
There it sits until this weekends cleaning session. I pulled it out, along with a bunch of older stereo stuff, and a 21" tv.
I set the stereo stuff out by the street for any of the neighbors to have ( it lasts about 15 min and gone)
My GF says I should take the monitor and tv to Goodwill along with other stuff, so I agree.
We go drop off the stuff, and after we leave, she says lets go get some stuff from her house too.
Ok, we do, and head back to Goodwill.
We get back, and I see my monitor in the dumpster !!!! So of course I was like WTF !!!
It was a good brand ( Viewsonic) and in perfect shape.
So as we leave I think to myself (BS on that ) and I grab it from the dumpster.
So off we go with my monitor, I figure I will give it away to someone in need rather than it go to the landfill.
So I tell my friends what happened, we all agree that it was BS, but oh well.
So tonight I get a call from Bryan (Bighemi06), asking if I still have the monitor, because a coworker needs one since his broke last week and cant afford to replace it. So I tell him yep, and he can have it.
So as it turns out, he picks it up, takes it home and calls me thanking me over and over.
He gives me blessings and good wishes over and over, which just gives me a warm feeling.
So there it is. A monitor that I sat on until this weeks craziness is now at a good home being enjoyed by someone less fortunate than me ( currently)
:beerchug:
So call it Karma or fate, or even planetary alignment. All I know is that it was strange how that all worked out.
So,
What about you guys ?
