Over all, I'm happy, although I know there's room for improvement for myself, and one or two things for my car. All runs were done with SC 91 octane tune, tq management reduced, paddle shift to auto and ESP off. I'll explain what I did differently with each run. *UPDATE* Temp was 95 deg, humidity in the 90% range, elevation less than 100ft. *UPDATE*

Btw, my car is an '06 Charger RT w/ R&T, Mopar Performance LT headers and high flow cats, Flowmaster catback, K&N air filter, and 255/55R18 BFG KDW-2's.

It seems that the best shifting and times are without the shift points raised, I'll experiment with just that next time. Heat is definitely a problem. Here comes that fan mod, and possibly a cooler t-stat.

Without further ado, here are the numbers!!!

Run #1: I had no idea what to expect from the tree, this is my first time ever at the track. Non raised shift points in D.

RT: 1.1379
60ft: 2.1801
330ft: 6.1161
1/8et: 9.2931
1/8mph: 77.69
1/4et:14.3522
1/4mph: 97.59

Run #2: Put in first gear and let the car shift at redline

RT: .8651
60ft: 2.2259
330ft: 6.2389
1/8et: 9.4537
1/8mph: 76.94
1/4et: 14.5719
1/4mph: 96.57

Run #3: Raised shift points, shifter in D

RT: .6509
60ft: 2.2051
330ft: 6.2351
1/8et: 9.4533
1/8mph: 77.42
1/4et: 14.5239
1/4mph: 96.84

Run #4: Raised shift points, shifter in 1 and allowed car to shift itself at redline. I'm not sure but I don't even think it left 1st gear.

RT: .7360
60ft: 2.4598
330ft: 6.9741
1/8et: 10.3602
1/8mph:74.86
1/4et: 15.6218
1/4mph: 87.73

Run#5: Raised shift points, tranny in manual shift, I shifted 1-2 at approx 5000, 2-3 at about 4500

RT: .6189
60ft: 2.1211
330ft: 6.0869
1/8et: 9.3900
1/8mph: 73.78
1/4et: 14.6552
1/4mph: 94.68

What was the temp like during all of your runs? Seems like it didn't matter what you did, it just kept getting slower each time.

Yes, I realized that I didn't post that crucial piece of information. The reported temp at the beginning was 95 deg, I didn't catch the humidity, but right now it's 6 am and the humidity is 95%. That's the norm for this time of year in wonderful Coastal Carolina. Elevation is within 100 feet of sea level.

Another important factor, would be engine temps, and time between runs. Your increasing times are probably more due to heat soak than anything else you're changing. The best thing you can do to improve would be the lower tstat and fan mod (other than a supercharger that is).

Yup, that's exactly what I was thinking. Both of those are now on my to-do list.

I'm also tossing around the idea of getting two extra wheels to mount some drag radials to. I like doing the big burnouts:grin: and I hate the thought of ruining two brand new BFG KDW-2's. I only got 18,000 miles out of the stock tires, I hope to make these last longer.

You didn't mention your launch technique. The one that has worked before me me in my Magnum is RPMs held at 2k while braking.

Just a quick blip of the tires to get any debris off of them, and I avoid the water as much as I can.

Best time for me has been a 14.18 at 96 with Zoomer's.

I varied the launch, I started by power braking at 1200, then brought it up little by little every pass, I think I was around 1800 at the last one. I couldn't tell if I was spinning out of the gates or not, sometimes it felt like I was, sometimes not. I didn't have anyone in the stands to tell me if I was spinning or not. I did enough of a burnout to clean the tires. Unfortunately there wasn't any avoiding the water, they sprayed it across the whole lane.
