Is the ScatPack really this slow, heavy, hyped?

Are you asking why a 4400lb car doesn't feel like a 165hp sports bike?

Are you seriously asking that?

Did someone in a Charger Scat Pack steal your girlfriend, and the only way you could think of to get closure was to come here and passive aggressively imply that our cars are not as fast as they are hyped to be?
Blah ha ha ha!!!!! We can always count on you Beach Goat!

The Charger is a trackable car that is not a track car. To go into a Charger purchase with track behavior your primary expectation is not being realistic. Nobody goes and buys a Miata to take to the streets for stoplight showdowns. It also would not be in good form to go to a Miata enthusiasts forum and make a statement that the car is a pig because it doesn't suck your eyeballs into the back of your skull when you floor it. The Charger does most things very well and few things extraordinarily well. And that is where it IS extraordinary and we Charger owners love them so much. Hellcat aside, it is very fast, stops short with little brake fade, handles good, is a comfortable cruiser for long drives, holds 4 people in absolute comfort, will carry almost everything a family vacationer needs in the trunk, moderately quiet at cruise (more so the lesser performance versions), and, IMHO, looks great while doing all the above. Looks are subjective, but judging from the looks, stares and thumbs up my SP gets everywhere I go I think most people agree. It's not a sleeper ('ahem' SS), but I'm grateful for that. It's a high performance car and I want it to look that way. Dodge built this car to do most things great but there is a car that will beat it in any one (sometimes two [emoji6]) category. That is the case with all cars.

If you are cross shopping ZL1s, Shelbies, Z06s, Camaro SSs, and their ilk then you are totally missing the point, and beauty, of this car and are judging it unfairly. I think that is why the OP got such a negative reaction from us because he did not seem genuine in his post and labeled a troll.

Good grief, dude. Just Do It. I'm a Pontiac and Jeep guy that ordered a SRT without even seeing one in person, let alone driving one (or any 392 or even a 5.7 - dealer stock was horrible around here last summer).

Okay, maybe I still wish I had gotten a Cherokee Trailhawk instead, but it's because the Charger is overkill. It's brutally quick. It screams at other drivers, "LOOK AT ME (while I beat your face in)." It's a lot of temptation under your right foot every time you hit the road. Driving it and not being able to floor it is pretty much the automotive equivalent of having blue balls.

All this and I still lust for the Hellcat. Go figure.

What is a troll!

1) I picked a great thread title. It caught eyes but it also hurt feelings. You guys can't even read my intentions cause you got caught up in the thread title and can't get passed that.
2) everything I said (and yes I'm wordy cause I'm excited..I'm also a former professor has gotten grilled daily for not being thorough with words) was in response to others or an attempt to learn more. Advertisements and YouTube doesn't give me any of what the folks here gave me

3) car vs bike? Who cares I asked about the car? All legitimate questions.
4) there are challengers, Chargers and multiple trim levels, some of you know all f them well, some don't. I research thoroughly. Is what I do.
5) you anti trolls give this thread more life than I do.
6) eat I'm a troll for participating in a thread I started. And for attempting to clarify my interests and experiences?
7) you are like a push car salesman trying to force me to bu the car n your lot, getting mad at me for knowing I have several things I need. If your car doesn't fit me, don't get mad at me for knowing it doesn't.
8) to any Dodge reps and brand soldiers trying to save face; I love all of the models and trims. I'm just trying to find the one that gives me hat special feeling that when I walk up to it or I have to look back when I get out. It's gonna be a combination of drive feel, power, and can my body be in it for hours, plan family stuff.
9) The one for me after spending time in the is the Charger SRT392 A8.
10) so m supposed to not answer or be gratefuk for the knowledge offered to me.

What is a troll? I don't understand what that means.
Your original post came across as disingenuous and inflammatory. Thus you were branded a troll. We bought into the "hype" as you put it, and most of us are glad we did, because we appreciate the car for what it is, and is not. A loose (whatever that means) track car it is not. It was never marketed to be such. On the contrary, it's quite tight and sure footed. That's what I expect and want of a 4400 pound car so I'm not as disappointed as you were with your test drives.

This is a good community and we are happy to point out faults in our cars when they show up. Sometimes discussions get spirited and some people are more diplomatic than others, but you chose to word your original post poorly and reaped the heat from it. It was offensive. Trolls post offensive things to garner negative reactions and you did, whether intentional or not.

And furthermore, this is a well proven 12.5 sec muscle car. It's irrelevant whether that feels fast or not to anyone. It's just fast. If that doesn't "feel" fast then you need to look into a Hellcat or a Lear jet to get that speed feeling.
