OK, seeing how nobody wants that Basslink I bought off of Jason like 7 years ago and has been sitting in my closet collecting dust, I've decided to go ahead and install it.

Now I've installed these previously, but it's been years and I would like a little input on the best way of going about it. Mind you I'm not a pro vehicle radio type dude....nor do I care if I have the best system, I usually spring for the top of the line factory stock radio these days and call it a day.

Previously I've just tapped into the rear speakers for the input on the Basslink since it's installed in the trunk or rear cargo area. Powering aside, is tapping into the rear speakers acceptable? Mind you this is being installed into a stock radio with no RCA outputs or the like, so I'm just wondering what my options are on a limited budget and a stock Hyundai radio.

I've attached a picture I nabbed from Ebay of the back of the same radio that is in my car if that helps...

Thanks in advance!

I have the clear basslink-x without the wiring harness. can't find the manual so I am likely no help to ya.

When I had it installed in the magnum, I had only the rears tapped.. didn't bother with the fronts, worked fine.

I had my basslink hooked up via RCA cables in my corvette. The sound was great. When I sold my vette I installed the basslink into my 300c via rear speaker tap. The sound was crap. I then installed it in my charger the same way as the 300 and the sound was the same (crap). I later found out that if you want it to sound good you MUST tap into the front speakers. There is no low going to the rear. The low is going to the front speakers. If you do not have the basslink wire harness you will have to purchase a LOC to use the basslink RCAs. You can find the user manual here:

Another option that I think might work is to purchase either the BA or Kicker 368 amp and tap into the factory subwoofer harness. It's located in between the rear 6x9s. I'm still trying to find out if the upgraded amp from either BA or Kicker sends out a low signal to the factory subwoofer harness. If it does just tap into that harness. If not you are going to have to go through front speakers. I'm in the same boat as you. I'm going to find out either today or tomorrow if the upgraded amp sends out a low signal. Good luck..

Anthony, the reason for front speakers in the LX is because they have more power/bass than the rear.

Is the sound pretty equal from all 4 speakers in the H car? Or are the fronts dominant? If equal, the rear should be fine, if front dominant, tap to the front.

Great question...I'll have to play with the fade and determine that. I don't drive the car very often (twice in the last month) because I'm doing contract work from home currently.

Thanks for the input all!

Interesting...the aftermarket kicker sub (77kick02) connects into one of the rear speakers. Wonder if it would be better connected to one of the front speakers.
