Been told that there might be an I Pod accessory kit available from Chrysler for our Magnums in the near future, does anyone know how soon or even a possible part number?

What you're looking for is the CHYP, from Peripheral Electronics, The CHY will give you aux input, but the CHYP will give you full integration to the IPOD. Not out yet though.

I used a y-adapter for the i-pod and pluged it in my EVS and it works great. $15 mod.

Part number is 82210181, lists for $135. "Fully integrated adapter provides 'FM bounded' transmission of music files through the vehicle's audio system. iPod music file navigation is maintained by the iPod click wheel control pad.

Do you have a nav unit or just the base radio or the MP3 deck?
You can do the above suggested stuff .....
OR just go with an after market radio thats IPod ready. You likely want to be able to control the IPod and see the names of the tracks etc. Or you do like I did (because I had the base factory radio) and just buy an aftermarket CD/MP3 head unit that still has the ability to connect an IPod should I desire that option.

I'm also among the folks unpatiently waiting for an iPod integration kit for my Magnum...went so far as to ask DrZ about it, I'll let you know what the response is (other than the initial "We appreciate your interest....")

My buddy uses a product from www.mp3yourcar.com for his Mazda3. Integrates the whole radio, as well as steering wheel controls. Just pack your iPod away and do it through the headunit.

Right now, the Magnum and Charger don't have anything, but the 300 has the product listed as "Coming Soon" but its been that way for 3 months now.
