So I've got a shop full of tools.

But this weekend I realized that I don't have a great way to raise my Magnum.

I've used various methods in the past, but I'm not so sure that any of them are great.

I've got ramps, jackstands and a low profile 2.5 ton floor jack.

How do y'all get em in the air to do maintenance?

Ideally, I'd like to be able to get the whole car on stands at some point for a couple of mods I have in the works.

Also, I'd like to be able to raise just the front or the back in the future.

So spill the beans and let me know your techniques, and do's and don'ts.

Thank you in advance to the Yodas of LXF.

Please, give me the knowledge, to not drop the car on myself.

cheers,
Burleson

Sorry folks but maybe I am slow but I don't get what you are suggesting. I assume a floor jack is used to raise the ride some where from the front and jack stands placed in the front. Then the same is done to the rear. Or the front/rear is put up on Rhino ramps for example and then the other end lifted with the floor jack and jacks placed some where. I have the same trepidation as the poster of this thread. :modding:

Floor Jack, and dumb luck.

Use the front cross supports and the back you can use the plastic knob and slide the jack stand into the pocket.

Takes a little work but what can you do!

if you look under your side skirts... you can see a frame rail.
a little ways behind your front wheel wells there is a hard plastic nub thing.
thats where i lift the car with ym floor jack.

i then place jack stands under the front and rear cradles once in the air to hold it up on all 4 corners

open the hood and look down just in front of the engine there is a 1-2" hole in the cross member. Roll your jack under the front center of the car until you see the jack pad centered under the hole. Jack away.

from the rear i put my floor jack under the rear end.And up she goes :)
x2.....and from the front I use the main x-member.......if you look where the two belly pans meet, right between the two 10mm bolts there is a hole.....well that hole is the center of the x-member.........center the jack under that hole and you can jack the car from there. If you are worried about not getting it right put it up on ramps and pull the belly pan.....you can see where I am talking about.

#1 I have lifting the car on the cross members. Actually despise it. If I have to use jack stands and depending on how much time i have to mess with it. I will lift under the rear diff using a urethane jack pad.

Once I have the back up, I use 2 floor jacks for the front using the outside jack points and putting the stands on the Delta marked inside lift points.

Been under a few cars where owners use that cross member to jack the car up a lot, and they dent up and deform from the weight. Now and then meh, but dont make a habit of it.
