Hey all, I got my HIDs installed, not my first set, the last one I had was a quick and easy wire harness and no flickering issues, unfortunately it managed to go on me somehow?! regardless I have this new kit with this wire harness that plugs into 1 headlight socket, power, and 2 grounds, with a relay, i have the capacitor but gavent had a chance to put it in yet. My question is, without the capacitor should my Check engine, ABS, ESP BAS, Parking Brake and a little red dot light come on? My speedo wont work or anything. I have disconnected the lights but left the power and ground cables connected. Any advice?

I have never heard of them stopping anything from working. The special harness they sell for our cars have capacitors and diodes in it pretty sure. I would check if everything is hooked up correctly. Or just check for a new harness from somewhere. I haven't met the guy but Don aka "XenonPimp pretty sure" sells a lot of kits and knows about it. 1-973-417-7884. You could call and ask him. I have ordered from him and so have friends and never had problems.

Something else is F'd if all that is lit up. What else did you unplug, etc?

Dunno, does it do that with the headlights on, or off? Key on but engine not running maybe?

Make sure the control-box for the HID's doesn't touch any part of the chassis.
It converts the 12V to 10.000V or something for the xenon bulbs and if that box touches the chassis it can interfere with allot of sensors.

When i installed it on my mag the ESP BAS, ABS, Check Engine and Parkingbrake light went on and it wouldn't shift gears. I just repositioned the boxes to make sure they didn't touch any metal parts, unplugged the battery for 20 secs to reset the car and everything was fine.

Have you tried disconnecting the +/- for the power through the relay, then see if you still have all the codes / lights to ensure it is the light ballast causing the issue.

FL3JM has a good idea to check the ballast is not near anything sensitive on the car as well. Fuse box, sensors, even a wiring harness.

Good luck, that is a weird scenario.
