Could use some help right away from my fellow LXF members!
While I was running errands tonight my display lit up with the "door open" symbol and all my interior lights came on during driving. Well the car just came out of the garage and went into the Illinois cold so I thought maybe some switch got frozen open. What I've been noticing is that after brief moments in the garage it seemed to reset itself. Well, not anymore. Right now the Mag is in the garage, the interior lights are all still on and the display is telling me that a door is still open. I've checked all the doors numerous times including the trunk and even the hood.
I just don't get it!

Someone please help!!!:panic::banghead:

Time for a trip to the dealership. Don't mess with the electrical unless you REALLY know what you are doing. I would disconnect the battery so it doesn't die, then take it in tomorrow. Good luck!

door ajar switches are just ground inputs to the cluster,so...
if you have an ohmmeter and are comfortable removing the instrument cluster, you can narrow it down to which door circuit is causing the malfunction.
Thank you for the PM! Looks like I may have a little work ahead of me. Right now the Mag is in the garage and it's like nothing was wrong in the first place, but I know that once I start driving it's gonna act up again. But it's gotta get fixed.

I checked the trunk but it seems to be ok. When you open the trunk a different icon comes on that's next to the open door icon.

I'm kinda wondering if it's anything like the Magnum turn signals. What I mean is, when a turn signal bulb burns out and then you try to use your signal after that, it flashes REALLY fast. Like it's an attempt to show you that something is wrong. So I'm wondering if it's a signal that maybe a fuse or relay is bad, you know? Just something that's annoying enough to get my attention so I'll fix it.

Anybody know if there is a specific fuse or relay that would control the "door ajar" signal?

Or more simply, pull each door panel and with the door closed, reach in and disconnect each door latch connector. Should have a tab you squeeze to pull off the connector. The lights will go out when the shorted latch switch is disconnected. If by some chance the lights don't go out, and you didn't accidently leave the dimmer switch on the dome position, then you can start pulling the cluster and ohmming out the circuit. If you have a scan tool that can access the cluster you can see which ajar switch is closed, and save you from pulling all of the door panels.

Keep in mind these cars will shut off loads if you leave it alone for a period of time. If I leave the door open it will shut off the inside lights to preserve the battery.

Will it turn on the lights again if you simply open and close the door?

Will it shut off the lights if you roll the dimmer all the way down, if not this another symptom.

Well, did it help you fix the problem? If so, what was it? If not, what have you ruled out?

What Pete's assistance did was help me discuss the problem with the tech (Paul) at Wickstrom Chrysler/Dodge like I knew what I was talking about. Paul actually said "......but it sounds like you know this stuff already......"
More than that, the 100K warranty is soon to expire, and with supercharging coming up soon it's gonna kill the warranty anyway so I'm gonna need to know how to do this myself in the future. Now I just gotta get my hands on a mobile StarScan tool! LOL

When I get a chance today I'm gonna post the receipt of the work done so people can see what the exact ailment was.

Yup, you're exactly right, Jim. After parking the Mag in the garage and checking on it 10 minutes later I noticed that everything appeared to be fine. Even after opening and then closing the door repeatedly (without the key in) there didn't seem to be a problem. It only acted up while the car was running whether at a standstill or not.
