First message decoded: 7E0821A9000000

That's morpheus telling the pcm that he wants the vin number. 7E0 is the address to request info from the pcm. 8 is the length of the message. 21A9000000 is the command for "send me the vin please"

Nah, nothing fancy once you decode it and you wouldn't believe half of the emails I get on a daily basis since the site went online.

Second message decoded: 7E8810135A9032443847

That is the pcm responding with the data Morpheus requested in the first message. 7E8 is the response id (indicating this message came from the PCM), 8 is the length of data, 10 indicates that this is the first part of a message. 135A90 indicates that this is a vin number. 32443847 is the first part of my vin in hexadecimal of course. It breaks down to 2D8G.

Just out of curiousity, magnumfreak - are you working in kahoots with the canhack guys? have you swapped info? this stuff is over my head, but you guys are fighting parallel battles it seems.

I do hang out there a bunch. Most of there work has centered around the can-b bus which handles things like radio messages and such. Linuxkidd has done some great work and pioneered some of the efforts that led to me even attempting Project Morpheus. There have been few attempts there to talk across the can-c diagnostic port like is needed to do tuning and such. But they are a tremendous resource, including providing information that led me to change can-usb adapters.
