Hey guys,

We are building a 99 Expediton 4x4 and want to bag it. Do you have anything for me? I know the torsion bars are probably going to be the problem but, what if we changed over the front suspension to the 03 style? That was the first year for a coil over style suspension.

Ernie....... i dont have anything specific for the 4x4 but if you are going to go as far as to clip it with an 03+, I would be fairly confident that you will have the fabrication skills to be able to add air to it. The easiest route to probably go would be to look at the SKW2020 type shockwave and make your own coil over style mounts to mount it in there.

If it is why can't this be adapted to the 99 suspension?

Those Shockwaves are designed to be bolted in place of the coilovers on the 2wd 03-up Expedition or 04-up F-150. Your front suspesnion is completely different than an 03-up. You don't even have a coil overs to replace.

I am aware of that but if I change out the frame section to an 03 config I could use those correct?

They are designed for a 2wd. Not sure if they will work on a 4x4.

What is the owner looking to get out of bagging it? Get it low or lay out? I would buy a 2wd frame and driveshaft, bag the 2wd frame and then swap out the 4x4 one.

Well I am the owner and right now I have something like 10" of space between the top of the tire and the fender. A 2wd frame is hard to come by here in the northeast, so I'm thinking about putting an 03 frame under it.
