:beerchug: Greetings From So.Cal., Pics of the "Silver Bullet"
A big "HELLO" from a So.Cal. Newbie (Santa Clarita Area). This is my first post so I hope the Pics of my '06 Silver Bullet will post.
Picked up my '06 Silver SRT8 in July (06-2006 built) and been lovin' it & moddin' it ever since. Been a "MOPAR" freak since the mid-60's (old fart, I know lol). First car I bought in 1969 was a '65 Dodge Dart with a "slant six" engine, which ran forever 200K plus. In 1971 bought my first new car, a 1971 Dodge Demon, 340SixPack, Metallic Blue, 4speed. (This was Dodge's answer to the Plymouth Duster) Some of the old timers will remember cruisin' your ride on Sunset or Whittier Blvd.
Fast-forward to 2006, thanks to all the great info posted on this, and similar forums, I was able to make intelligent/informative decisions on what mods were effective, as well as cool. Learned things like "The Dookie Swap," which I did, "Fuse 11," which also works, especially when my "other-half" babies the beast. Pull Fuse 11 for 15sec. or so, re-install same, do throttle calibration, drive it like it was intended, and it is 1971 all over again, except I'm groovin to some tunes on Sirius and have room for my "grand-kids" in the back. (Life is Good and Appreciate It.)
Had my dealer install Mopar CAI, went to see Ron at Zoomers in Irvine, who did an excellent install. He first installed the normal cat-back system, which in my opinion "Rocks". However, it was a little too aggressive for my wife, so Ron added some "resonators" which put a little muzzle on those 3" pipes, but left enough bark to satisfy the old-man. For those OC members still on the fence as to what exhaust is right for you, you cannot go wrong with the Zoomers. For quality as well as great customer service.
Traveled down to GSM's new facility in Santa Fe Springs and Ryan hooked me up with the GSM Fan/ESP Mod, which they installed and I am also very happy with. Trying to convince the "WAR DEPT" that spending another $7-8K on GSM's S/C is fiscally prudent, yeah right! That motion was vetoed.
Ordered some cool decals from Rider Graphics, and the total result is what I hopefully will be shown below. Thanks again for all the great info that is posted here. Keep On Rockin'.
