picked up a used Magnum R/T last weekend. The dealer did me a "favor" by detailing the car before pickup. In the process they got wax all over the rear spoiler and satellite antenna. They masked it pretty well with Armor All or something so I didn't notice it until cleaning the car last night. Any suggestions on how to clean this off? Soap and water didn't cut it....

peanut butter...seriously, the oils in peanut butter will remove the white hazy look that some waxes leave on plastic trim peices, like the unpainted spoiler, and the trimmings under the window..

a lil peanut butter on a micro fiber towel, rub it in, wipe it off and u should be golden..dont use chunky peanut butter, lol

Rubbing it down good with rubbing alcohol usually takes it off. I use Blue Ice polish on mine. It works on the paint, plastic parts and black trim with no residue at all.

thanks guys...that was quick. no offense bookeem but I'll try the rubbing alchohol first...seems like it would be easier to get off than the peanut butter...but will try it if necessary. I've always heard that peanup butter was good for getting gum out of hair...with a 3 year old and 5 year old at home I am looking forward to trying that sometime soon.

uh roger...there is a girl getting hand prints on your car...make her stop and send her to my house to get hand prints on my car

back to black is by mothers IIRC, alcohol will dry out the plastic..might make it whiter or discolor it also..
I agree the alcohol is not a good idea. The back to black does work, but is more expensive than Skippy, and doesn't taste nearly as good on toast. The peanut butter really does work very well, and it's something most people already have, and has other great uses.

'8r...been meaning to get with you and request more photos of your car...
I have a midnight blue 05 and one of my dream mods right now are the KW V2s and Hotchkis bars. Most lowered cars have aftermarket/larger wheels so I'm interested in how it looks with the stock ones. I haven't paid for tags and taxes yet...so everything is a bit off for me.

I have heard that putting just a touch of WD40 on a rag, then wiping it down removes it pretty well... (it worked well on the plastic on my RX8 last year...)

I guess you have to know how to do it. I use alcohol all the time cleaning plastic parts during detailing after a paint job in my body shop. Whatever you do, dont use any Armor-all stuff....its only good for tires on lawnmowers and ATVs, lol.

You know, I've used that stuff. And at first I was impressed by the results. However, as time went on I found that it didn't remove the wax, it just hides it. It'll come back. On mine, even where I didn't have wax, after the stuff dried a month or so the black parts got all streaky. That's when I busted out the toothbrush. YMMV

I did mention to use the alchohol very sparingly (on the car that is)
Stoner tarminator seems to work also.
OK Heprat, some photos, taller BFG KDW tires on, 255/55/18:
