Since I am wanting a laptop I will try to sell my desktop for some extra cash. It is a Gateway w/ a 15inch flat panel monitor and printer. 60Gig HD, 512MB RAM, it can be plugged into a TV as well. I have some nice software on it too for DVD burning, Photoshop, and of course XP. Make me an offer...

Depending on what CPU you have, I'd say 600 is a bit high. I just bought a brand new Dell yesterday for 500.

How fast of a processor does it have in it? Right click on "My Computer" and go to properties. (Or open up System Properties from the control panel.)

Does it happen to say the speed and type of processor that is in it on that window? Might help figure out an estimate. If I had to guess, I would guess that you could get $300-400 for it, but that processor could change that estimate up or down.

The other thing that might change price is, does it have PCI-E slots, or regular PCI with an AGP for video? Its tough to find a decent video card for AGP now.

For any decent price guess... The following is a must:
1) CPU Speed and CPU version... Ie, Pent IV 2.16 ghz etc
2) Speed of Hard drive (you may not know)
3) age of computer will help guess the other

A typical single processor 512 1.6 ghz machine with the 15" is only worth 250 used...

You can build one new for 350

okay it is 2.0GHz i believe, 60 gig hard drive but i don't know the "speed"
i can't remember exactly how old... i think 2 years, maybe 3...
i will have to check on the pentium though
