hey guys...i was able to snag a fri sparrow from a awesome member here at a great deal. By the way i am that guy that goes hmm this is what I have how can I make it better and tinker with stuff all day. Heres what we did: Im a 5.7 by the way
My numbers do seem high i realized but alot of things will affect it.
Base dyno mod - slp exhaust jba mids and bbk shorties(which by the way look nice...welds are good... quality just like the jba's) afe stage 2 predator
318/336...not to shabby i think na
379/392...on the bottle(75)
What was added - fri sparrow - pac218 springs...also..i was on a budget and since i went to school for maching...i may have ported and polished my stock head.....its free so i did that and ordered some new valves 1mm oversized and put the head back on....pretty much recondition my stock head and did a 5 angle job aswell.
Upon start up i had issues...the car did not want to idle worth a crap and even after i raised the idle...it was a no go....long story short... i was off a few teeth and got it in time. Now off to the rollers....
I got a base tunefrom a friend on here and started it up.....omg...if i couldnt here lope before..i hear it now. Shes puring like a kitten. I did some data logging and a few pulls and she was good. Off to the rollers...... condidtions were as said....55ish weather doors were open to dyno plus i had a fan on my bay, so maybe the numbers were high maybe not... not humid at all. I didnt get a sheet but was able to send one off to my tuner and until i get my first revision i dont care about the numbers but average was 367/378.....wow...didnt see that coming at all!!!
these numbers seem freakishly high for a cam only with some port work...but im no hemi genius and im constantly learning. Im more worried about the timeslip. Im scheduled on may 1st to go back for revisions. oh and afr was sitting around 11.8-12.3 not to bad but for a base tune...itll do for daily driving. It took me ruffly oh about 16 hours to do....i had issues with my exhuast and did have a leak in my shorties and didnt want to take the heads off so alot of smashing hands...do these with the heads off !
With my schedule school and work its really hard to find free time.....
Oh and as most know in my club the HEARTLAND MOPARS... i love nitrous so i made one pull on base tune with the bottle.......410/438 (75)...she did dip a little low but with the revisions i think well see some good numbers but i want the slip.
I did notice a few things...I will have to relearn launching this thing....especially with drag radials.... i will need a stall for sure.....i do have a MTCM with 6g shift points. I was styill making power through there...maybe the heads ?? Im not sure....
Last thing is...FARGO>>IM TIRED OF chasing your football so i got a cam to feel better about myself.
Ill keep you guys updated Thanks Tored for the cam and FRI for an amazing product...I remember when i first got my car and i launched it...i had to lean forward cuz it push me back and i got used to it and now its a grin and do it to me all over again.
