I just got home with my new flashpaq!!! Holy sh_t, what a diffrence...

Here is my question? How many people who have the flash pack raise the shift point to 6250rpm ver. 5800(stock shift point)?? I did mine @ 6250 rpm... I know it wont hurt anything but, just wondering???

This may sound a little funny but I left my shift points @5800 because a couple years age dodge had a magnum racing game and when I shifted @ 6250 I got my ass kick but when I shifted @ 5800 I always won?? The factory shift points seem to be very strong don;t want to hurt or lose any power by shifting to late.

the powerband starts to drop off at 6,000... that extra two hundred shouldn't really help or hurt you either way.

Actually, that's a topic that's seen a fair amount of debate around here...

Last May at E-Town I did two runs at stock shift points, pulling a 14.41 and a 14.39, and two runs with raised shifts, pulling a 14.17 and a 14.29.

If it starts dropping off at 6000, then why didn't SC FP raise the limiter to 6000?

very true, but you almost gotta wonder if the "sweet spot" you're landing in at the beginning of the next gear is enough to compensate for the extra time winding up the motor in the previous gear.

Are you using the Paddle-Hold or Paddle-Kick setting?

I have my shift point set at 6250 and in real life, it shifts at about 6100 RPM.

That is when I leave it in drive and just floor it.

Thanks for posting the times, like hemi31 said It has nothing to do with trying to get more power out of it on the topend, its when it shifts, your more in the useable power band, other words when it shift your eng. in the nxt gear your @ a higher hp.

I think the biggest benefit for raised shift points is found in street (style) racing rather than track racing. That is to say, not so much benefit in upshifting as there is in downshifting. Dyno and 1/4 mile numbers have not turned up much if any benefit. But when you go WOT while the car is moving, it will drop 2 gears (with raised shift points) at speeds it would normaly only drop 1 gear. While driving at 69 mph, with raised shift points, my car will drop into the sweet spot of second as opposed to dropping into the sluggish part of third.
