yeah, 30 over is pretty stupid and reckless, but we are not here to tear another one for this guy, judge will do that. hopefully he gets it that he f-ed up royally.

Tattood, spend the money and get a traffic court attorney. You don't want that on your record.

Here in FL you get a free Reckless Driving charge along with the ticket if you are clocked at 20 over the speed limit or higher. I got a ticket on I-10 many years ago for doing 84 in a 65...and I guarantee you I was doing better than that. I drive like a grandma now.

That one's gonna hurt. Problem is it's easy to do in these cars. I've had one speeding ticket my whole life and after getting this car I've crept up there without even knowing it. Give it 3/4 throttle on the on ramps and you don't even come out of second till over 70.

These 20 over and 30 over laws are good I guess but lets face it 20 over on a freeway is not as bad as 5 over in a residential. I live on a residential street and the speed limit is 30mph. Lots of kids and elderly and these asshats that think it's ok to drive 35mph down this street should be fined more than someone going 30 over on a freeway. Ok I'm done ranting for now.

Add VA to that list. 20mph over and you go to jail. on the spot. impound your car haul you away. In MD they're a little more lax, i've learned my lesson yet i've still managed 3 more tix due to rediculous circumstances and cosmic hijinx.

anyway good luck again man! don't let these guys harp on you too much. the amount of name calling to go with 30 over is directly related to the circumstances around it. were you putting others at risk etc. so only you know the true extent of your actions...learn from them is all

+15 punished as speeding but is worth 3-6 points, the same as reckless driving. Effective January 1, 2007, +30 or 80 is a misdemeanor with a requirement for 2-5 days in jail or 36 hours of community service

i got mine like 2-3 months ago, going like 81 or so in a 55 up on the freeway by the airport. when i was pulled over i gave him my Military ID as well told him I knew I was going fast but not that fast, was flowing with the on coming traffic, he reduced my ticket to like 71. Like 5 cars got nailed... Ohh well

Wisconsin is 25 and more (8 points) will be the same....

Good think cops have only caught be going 19 an 24 over in each state respectively... Which got me driving scool in IL, and 4 Pts in WI

OK, I know this sounds stupid so you don't need to remind me. I just don't wear seatbelts. Never did. But I don't back out of my garage without turning on my Escort. OK, driving without a seatbelt is stupid. OK, driving without a quality Lasar/Radar detector is stupid.

You all have seatbelts. If you don't have a detector, do yourself a big favor and order one today.

By the time it goes off , you`ve already been caught , and they have pin-point accuracy. He said he could pick someone out in a pack of cars easily....

I don't know about other states, but most cops in Illinois use lasers. They do a quick blip and you are screwed. Most of them target your headlights or other shiny areas of the car, nowhere close to your detectors. Plus they use lidars with very little scatter. Don't waste your money. Best radar detector is following a pack of cars from a distance and watching their brake lights.

No Escort or Valentine One could help you in any municipality or state that has budget problems, they always get their latest tools to make up budget holes with their lidars.
