I pick up my car in a couple of days. Want to get started on some cheap and easy mods when I get it.

What would you guys suggest? Fan mod? Fuse 17 mod? Others?

Also, what's the best bag for your buck mod on these cars? I know that they don't respond well to intakes. SuperChip tuner? Any thoughts?

Thanks and look forward to posting and reading more in the future!

Got the climate control? Go look up the autoheadlight mod, if your car doesn't have it...

Which model/engine did you get?

I would agree with this one. Nice and inexpensive. I used a finger nail clipper and I did not even have to buy one!:thumbs_u:

If your new vehicle has a recent build date (June 2006 or newer), the Superchips tuner won't work. DC added some 2007 wiring changes to the late 2006 models and the current tuner doesn't work. Superchips is working on the 2007 version, but it isn't available yet.

Auto headlight mod. Cheap (free) and it only takes about 5 minutes. (if you have the right options package to begin with)

TSTAT/fan mod. Best bang for the buck in performance mods. (about $20 and worth 20 HP over a heat soaked engine)

When Superchips gets the 2007s hacked, go for the Flashpaq. Absolutely the best bang for the buck after the tstat/fan mod.

The car doesn't get much more horsepower out of an intake, but it does sound a helluva lot meaner, and it responds quicker to a good stiff kick in the pedal... it's cheaper than exhause and almost as much fun. Otherwise, superchips.

pull the side mouldings. Cost=free
Unless you have bubbles in your paint, in which case the cost will be at the minimum a headache getting it corrected, or worse case, the cost of repainting half your car to the tune of $250/panel plus fading.

Here is the best plan...... Go rent a safety deposit box and put your wallet inside. Then toss the key off of a bridge. You will thank me later.

First it is a turn signal mod... then a headlight switch..... and a console lid....and....... Everything is downhill from there! :racing:

shavin' er is free.
Lotsa bang for the buck there.
ported stock air intake and a removal of the suitcase for some cool sound.
Maybe some new exhaust tips to accentuate that mod.
Superchips Flashpaq... required for any 5.7L. Most bang for the buck, performance-wise.... by far.
Headlight swap fer free?
grille swap too?
removal and capping off of the rear wiper... another freebie
creative lovin on the engine cover... price of materials
sweet front freebie blinker mod

...I don't recomend removing fuse 17 for daily driving, man. This is another place the flashpaq is cool. Leaves it on till ya turn it off the retards it up to 90%. Big difference in this and just pushin ther dash button on a car w/o the flashpaq and ya don't have to run a toggle switch.

Your chances of having the bubbles will be the least when it's brand new and my dealer would cover the bubbles in warranty so the repair cost would still be free.

Also, I had bubbles and they went away in about 3 days. Some people will tell you that my paints gonna fall off later, but some people wear little tin-foil hats and think the govt. is out to get them.

If you ever in situations where your car sits in the sun long enough to get HOT inside, then unquestionably, you'd be happiest with the remote start.

  • Look out side at your car.
  • Aim remote start button at car.
  • Push button.
  • Go back into the A/C.
  • Return three minutes later to find you Magnum nice and cool.
You'll make many points with your wife or girl friend.
